If you want to try stuff and get a lot of inspiration, you should visit Piens Music Planet (http://www.piens.be/) They are located in Sint-Martens Latem, near Ghent. They claim to have the biggest showroom in the benelux. I didn't visit them in their new location, but when they were in Deinze, their drums and guitars showroom was really impressive.

Piens isn't worth the trip anymore ever since they moved, you'r better of at "Key Music". i can recommend a nice second hand shop with shops in Gent and Asse(near bxl): https://www.facebook.com/pages/Thoma-Okaze-Asse-muziekwinkel/198726580160528
