A friend is looking for a French bakery anywhere within 60 miles of Buffalo - she would kill (figuratively!) for a real chocolate croissant. Any thoughts?

I saw Laura's original post and made my recommendation on her wall, but thought I would post here, as well. I suggested La Patisserie, the retail bakery shop that is a part of the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute (NCCC). It moved into the old Rainbow Mall. Ha. I've been there a few times when visiting & had some lovely treats. For a menu and hours (may want to call ahead of time since it is part of a school): http://www.nfculinary.org/restaurants-and-retail.php Plus you can stroll over to the Falls or the casino, after.

contact Luci Levere at Elm Street bakery

I came up with Parkside Sweetness 7, but those are crepes, not croissants. I also suggested Wegmans!
While baking my first loaf of Sullivan st. Bakery bread from Jim lahey, the handle to the lid of my enamel coated oven blew up. Where can you buy stainless steel...
David G. replied:
Premier Gourmet and/or Williams-Sonoma used to carry them. If at Premier, ask Cathy. If at Williams-Sonoma, speak with Mary or Wanda, the store manager. I purchased mine at one of these stores must must be suffering a bout of CRS.
Christopher T. replied:
Williams Sonoma has them for sure.

Wedding Cake Recommendations I'm looking for bakeries (preferably in the Ken-Ton area) for a wedding cake. Anybody have one they loved?

Muscoreils or bust, in my opinion. They rebake your top tier for your first anniversary.

Ohlsen's on Main Street in Clarence... same deal with the one year anniversary cake, they did a fantastic job and were very reasonably priced.
Crazy_Schizo replied:
My wife and I had our wedding cake done by Sweet Beginnings bakery. They were about middle of the pack in terms of pricing compared to the other bakeries we looked at, but they were the first bakery to really wow me on taste. I particularly enjoyed the pumpkin and cream cheese sample they gave us. Perfect if you are looking at a fall wedding.

I loved our cake from Butterwood. It was expensive but delicious.

If you want something different, we did a 4 tier Irish cream cheesecake wedding cake from Just Say Cheesecake on Sheridan. It was amazing (taste and appearance!)!
Helppppp: my great grandmother used to order sponge candy from a family owned bakery in Cleveland Ohio...the bakery has since closed down and i'm craving it almost to...
Anyone know of a person who bake homemade Christmas cookies that sells them. Not a bakery. My go to girl isn't doing them this yet.

Found someone. Get in touch with Anne Conti Bazinet on Facebook. Her aunt does them.
