Dr. Muhn took a 3 mm biopsy -- He said that at such a small size it was really hard to tell what it was (BCC, rosacia (sp?), ingrown hair, etc...). I get the results in about two weeks.:) And have to remember to get the stitch out in 8 days.
Karen L. replied:
Biopsy came back positive for BCC, excision booked for Sept 29 th. Missing some classes to make the trip but I would rather Dr. Muhn do it than someone here in Kingston (Dr. Muhn offered to find me a referral) who I'm not familiar with:)

I live in MD as well and go to Sammy Kang, but he needs referral from your primary doc. Monica, if you could let me know yours as well, that would be awesome. Dr Kang has one other BCCNS patient he says.

Hello, This is a wonderful discussion. Several years ago, a geneticist at The Cleveland Clinic asked us if we had any members who had hair patches is irregular places, or different texture hair or color in patches. Anecdotaly, through conversations with affected persons, we knew they existed; but when we put out an inquiry to see if people would participate in a study, we had no responses. This condition is rare, and it is only through finding people to participate in evidence based studies with clinical documentation and published articles that the medical field will have the knowledge base for some of the "other manifestations" which support further scientific review and protocols. If you are interested in being screened for this, we could arrange a "group screening" at the upcoming Ohio meeting in October, or at future regional meetings. Please send us an e-mail to info@bccns.org. Thank you for your interest and advocating for your child.
We moved to South Atlanta, Georgia and need to find a Pediatric Dermatologist here. My kids are 14 and 7 and have done PDT most recently and really want to continue that...
Here's a question for you guys, I've never had Mohs surgery, just conventional excisions. Usually the dermatologist gets it all in 1 or 2 tries. I've had up to 3 lesions...
