Our dog goes to Paws Dog Daycare and loves it. It is at 16 Avenue SW and 12 Street SW. They are small, but the staff is excellent and Higgins always comes home happy and exhausted. They do group pack walks and play. I know it's good because Higgins is always so excited when we go there - he is the happiest dog ever and we are happy he gets his snuggles in! http://www.pawsdogdaycare.ca/

Try Kendrah Mandeville her page is https://m.facebook.com/dogginitdaycare
We are just south of downtown. Not sure if it would be walking distance and the c-train is a couple blocks away. You can swing by for a tour anytime. Www.twopawsuponline.com
After seeing a similar post on doggy daycare, any recommendations for doggy boarding? Going on vacation this month and first time boarding our dog in Calgary. Looking...

Just like I posted in the [other thread] (http://www.reddit.com/r/Calgary/comments/2 v248 f/good_doggy_daycare/coe48 nn), Sleep Rover! Our pups love it there. They start vibrating on the drive, and basically sprint in to play.

We love BowDog and have used them for weekly daycare for the last three years. We also board our dog there from time to time and have nothing but good things to say about them.

We use BowDog. We started with them when they were Calgary Dog Walkers, and have stayed with them through the years. We use both their dog walking service and kennel. The kennel is near Chinook Center, and while it doesn't have 'green space', there is a huge indoor space and fenced outdoor space with lots of neat apparatus for the dogs to play on. You can take a tour to check it out if you call ahead. I think they also have a first time customer deal on - 50% off for first time customers. http://www.bowdog.ca/ They are also associated with AARCS (we board our AARCS fosters there for free when we are out of town), which is awesome.

My friend has used Springbank Pet Resort and loved them.

I'm interested in this as well as we recently moved here. We used place 4 paws just south of Airdrie, seemed pretty nice, recently renovated and got a good amount of outside time. Was & $50 a night for two.

I posted on the other [thread](http://www.reddit.com/r/Calgary/comments/2v248f/good_doggy_daycare/coe501f) as well. I take my kelpie-cross to Wildsands near chinook. http://www.wildsandspct.ca/services.php It's a small place run by an amazing mother and daughter combo and I never, ever worry about my Georgie. Anyhow, I like the Wildsands philosophy and their approach to pet care, Sandy seems to specialize in neurotic/fearful dogs and genuinely brings out the best in them, and I have to say, I love the fact that it's a smaller place where my dog isn't just one of the masses - she's at home and treated like family. They have great hours and rates as well, definitely one of the more reasonably priced places in the Chinook area. I buy multi-day passes and pay $20/day. Meant to specify that they also do boarding, and actually take the dogs home with them, so their boarding does fill up quickly considering they get a lovely at-home experience.
I suppose everyone's experiences are different. I had an awful, awful experience with Bowdog and cannot in good conscience recommend them to anyone. That being said, I've no doubt other people that have been using them for years with no problems or they'd be out of business. I wasn't willing to repeat the experience or take a chance on my dog's health and happiness, and quite frankly, am not crazy about some of their policies (crated nap time), so will never go there again. To each his own ;) Good luck in your search, I know it can be confusing and a bit overwhelming.

Find a friend with a dog and ask for a huge favour. Just be willing to repay the favour when they go away. I've had a dog (or dogs) for 4 years now and have never had to board my dogs. I'm just accustomed to having their dogs stay here while I'm on vacation. However if that doesn't work, I've heard good things about a place out behind the trailer park near COP, not sure what it's called though. Apparently they don't have a website or anything. From what I can remember, it's just an old couple that wanted to retire with dogs and turned their acreage into a doggie daycare.

http://www.happytailsretreat.com/ we've been using them forever! My dog always comes back happy (and exhausted from playing with all her new friends).

I'm a little late, but I use [dogvacay.com](https://dogvacay.com/dog-boarding--ab--calgary). It's people who have a dog or two (usually) and will take your dog into their home while you are out of town. They take your dog for walks and to the dog park. You get pictures of your pet from them daily and updates on how they are doing. It's reasonably priced at $25-$35 dollars a night depending on which home you choose.
I've used them twice and have not had a bad experience yet. My dog is very attached to me and gets super sad when I leave him, but this way he gets to be in a home with people who love dogs so it makes it a little easier. I just don't like the idea of leaving my dog at a kennel, he'd hate it.
