There are private practice dietitians here in the province. However your dr can refer you to one within Eastern Health and this would be covered by MCP.

Just because your hormones fall within a normal range, doesn't mean there isn't something there, they might not have checked everything, and depending on your medications or time of day the blood was drawn, it could skew the results. If I were you, I would seek a second opinion, find a women's clinic for self referral (I go to the NE Calgary women's clinic, but there are a couple others in the city). Or if your doctor is willing, a referral for an endocrinologist. Sounds a bit like PCOS from your brief explanation, see /r/PCOS if you want to see more experiences, diet typically helps relieve symptoms too. A lot of doctors have little to no experience with PCOS. One doctor tested my blood and said I didn't have it, when I specifically asked. A few years later, another doctor said I probably did have it, and sent me for more thorough bloodwork and an ultrasound which confirmed it.

Go and talk to Dr Roth and Dr Reddy at Innovations Health Clinic. You'll need an appointment with Roth - he's a naturopath but they're both the real deal.

Thank you so much for all the comments and info... I do feel very overwhelmed thinking about everything right now but I'm excited to meet with Dr. Scott (yes Kerry A Mckague) and get pointed in the right direction! One of things I was wondering about was the toaster thing... I had heard you can buy 'toaster bags' to wrap the GF bread in so it doesn't get cross contaminated...?? wasn't sure if that was a real thing/or even worth it (versus just having a separate toaster).
In the name of being an effective nutritionist one day I am going to start trying some different eating plans. One month for each, I'm going to try gluten free, raw food...

Raw food is just good. I am obviously going to wait until summer is in season. That's part of the reason in doing this. I'm on an extremely right budget and I need to figure out how to make it work for my future clients. Also Wal Mart has nothing to do with this. Also sprouting is super cheap and a major part of raw food. All raw food means is an uncooked vegan diet. It can actually be done on the cheap fairy easily.
