Talk to your Doctor. Walk in Doctor, any of them. They will be able to immediately help you and recommend you to a psychologist and after a psychiatrist. We have Alberta Mental health services so you should be able to go through them and it will be covered, but again Go talk to a Doctor! EDIT: http://www.albertahealthservices.ca/services.asp?pid=service&rid=7484 **How do I obtain services?** * No referral is necessary and our services are free to Albertans as our costs are covered by your Alberta Health Care * You can call yourself or a medical practitioner can also refer you

Kevin Ruddell of http://mymindmatters.ca/ He is right across from Chinook mall. I've been to a fair amount of psychologists and he is by far the best. Just amazing.

I can't help, but shingles fucking suck so I hope you recover soon, both from that and the mental stuff. Good luck.

If you are in a pinch and need immediate support call the Distress Centre. http://www.distresscentre.com Remember hormone changes will make things seem more acute now that you are pregnant! I remember that my heart rate went up (common as blood pressure drops while creating all the extra blood needed for growing baby) which felt like anxiety attacks and made me feel uncomfortable. Good luck and good for you for going after the support you need.

Dr. Perry Sirota. I was an alcoholic sunken chested reservation waste case with daddy issues when I walked through his door. Now, bull strong mentally/physically, I live in Europe and explore the world. He's as close to a mind-architect as you are probably going to find. Good luck OP.

Animal Welfare. As terrific as the Watermelon Ranch is, their dogs are in no danger of being put to sleep. Save a life and adopt from one of the city's animal welfare shelters.

You might want to look at Watermelon Mountain Ranch.

I am sorry no one has replied yet!! Try the west side shelter too, even though its a bit of a drive. Try these guys too http://www.nmsiberianrescue.com/. If you are looking for a husky.

On the news tonight I saw that there is a dog delivery kind of special with one of the local shelters since they have an abundance of dogs who need a home and I guess to play up Christmas presents for kids, And they're running out of room :(. Good luck finding a new friend! Tons of pups out there would love to have you as their new person! I think it was on channel 13.

This is a good place too: http://www.albuquerqueboxerrescue.org/ I have a boxer and they are the shit!
funbob replied:
The city shelters. They are overrun with pets at the moment. 1000 pets in facilities designed to hold 800. They've had to start turning away owner surrenders, they just don't have the room to hold anymore. You should be able to find any type of dog under the sun and save a life in the process. The adoption fees are a bargain for what you get... All shots, license, microchip, sterilization, and a free post adoption vet checkup. Consider your lifestyle when choosing your new companion. Husky's are great dogs, but they are a high energy breed designed to work, they need lots of exercise and space to run.
Burnt_Zombi3 replied:
I got one of my best dogs ever from the shelter here. Purebred german shepherd and I couldn't have asked for a better friend. Don't forget there's a shelter on the west side as well. There's also animal adoptions events at least a few times a month. Rescue groups from around the state and elsewhere may bring in dogs. My family fostered two dogs from groups like that, saving them from no kill shelters. We just ended up making one a permanent addition to our family. Best of luck OP, you'll know your new friend the moment you look into those eyes, it's just one of those moments that hits you in the feels. I hope whichever lucky dog you save gives you all the love and support you can ever want!

If you're still looking, I cannot recommend Pet-A-Bulls highly enough. If you haven't given some thought to owning a bully breed, look into them. I may be a bit biased, but they're great for companionship and therapy. They bond very closely, and are very affectionate. PAB has adoption events often, and they have both a website and a Facebook page where you can see their currently available animals. They also give a lot of post-adoption support.

Do you want a man or a woman? What are you looking to get out of treatment? What type of therapy are you looking at? My understanding is that psychologists have a provincial "suggested" rate of 170 an hour. So paying significantly less than that, I would be cautious as to who you go with.
_voyevoda replied:
Momentum is a walk-in counselling service that has sliding scale fees based on your income.

This has been asked on this sub a few times now and I seem to remember there being one almost exactly as you want on/near Whyte Avenue, I think. Upvoted for visibility.

I seriously can't say enough good things about [Shift Psychological] (https://shiftpsych.com/). They have a variety of professionals at a variety of costs, offer sliding scale spots for low-income people, and i think they may have started offering direct billing under blue cross. Seriously good stuff.

Or bring a case of beer over to my place, I'll tell you how life is unfair and how no one gets out alive.
I'll tell you breakups aren't fun and only time heals a broken heart or ruined expectations, but you can accelerate the process.
I'll tell you to stay busy playing drop in team sports like badminton so you don't become reclusive.
Sometimes getting over a break up can take years before you're ready to start a new relationship,
Just understand it happens to just about everyone multiple times so it's not like you've been singled out.
I've felt I've been laid low numerous times and did experience utter dispair thinking my life was over.
Through perserverance I've become stronger and happier than I was and now look at my loss as a life experience that's made me better person in everyway.
I walked away from the whole gang of friends and moved from the city.
