The big difference is that applications process for PR usually takes around 2 years while a visitor visa (section 11.6) for relatives/spouses is quicker to get, with this temporary visa you can also study, work or start your own business. I am not in SA but in the Dubai. Le Roux were recommended to me to battle for my son's Unabridged Birth Ceriticate and Study Visas for both of my teenage children.
