I was referred to your group because I have a rescued collie -smooth coat. His name is Satchel. Because of CEA he is totally blind. We are new to the Charlotte NC area...
Chris M. replied:
http://www.carolinavet.com in Charlotte & Greensboro have ophthalmologists.
Michele A. replied:
If you don't mind driving a bit, Dr. Robert English is probably one of the best eye specialists in the area. He is in Cary and I've taken 2 of my dogs to him. He is at 6405 Tryon Road in Cary nc 919-319-3348
Debbie O. replied:
Try Carolina Vetinary Specialists off S. Tryon in Charlotte. He may be retired now, but our ophthalmologist there years ago was Jesse Eichenbuam.
Pam B. replied:
We also saw Dr. Eichenbaum in Charlotte about 6 years ago for our sheltie's corneal dysplasia. He was very professional. I think you'd be pleased with him.
Bobby C. replied:
I have great things about Dr. English, in Cary, as well. Raleigh also has the NCSU vet school specialist. Like Michele said- a bit of a drive but all are good. Love that white smoothie coat on Satchel! Sweet face too!
Pam B. replied:
Dr English is who I use but he is a long way from Charlotte.
Ann K. replied:
Dr. Sigle at Carolina Veterinary Specialists in Greensboro. She's wonderful!
Sara F. replied:
Welcome to Charlotte, Satchel. We have a collie with CEA and sees only partially in one eye In Charlotte adopted from CRC. We saw a veterinary opthomologist when we got him. He was referred by our vet and was in Pineville. I think it was Carolina veterinary specialists mentioned above. They were very nice but said nothing they can do with CEA.
Looking to switch my dentist and eye doctor - any suggestions for up here?
Mandy B. replied:
I have liked Mann&Dolfi, and they're really close to school for dentist stuff, and I only just last year changed my eye doctor to Dr. O'Neal near the hospital on Kildaire - http://www.eyesurgeonsmd.com/doctors-eye-exams.html
Cathy T. replied:
Eye doctor, Dr. Russello - Preston Optometry. He's at the corner of High House and Cary Pkwy.
Diane H. replied:
I go to Beaver Family Dentistry in Apex. I actually like going to the dentist now.
Local Ophthalmologist recommendations for Lasik surgery?
Courtney W. replied:
Brian had his done 10 yrs ago with Dr. Kelly in Raleigh, I believe, and was really pleased.
Kelly B. replied:
Hi Ginny:) I usually use Dr. Dornic. He does a great job. I can do your pre-op and post-op for you if you like. Why were you unable to wear contacts? If it was due to dryness, Lasik will make your eyes drier:( Let me know if you have anymore questions.
Erika H. replied:
Have you confirmed you are a candidate? I only ask because we loaded up our HSA this year for my husband to get it done and his eye doctor told him later he would not recommend it. We use Dr Stikeleather of Cary Vision Care. He doesn't do the surgery himself but has had LASIK done and has someone he can recommend. He can also do the consultation to tell if you are a candidate.
Amanda B. replied:
Laser Eye Center of Carolina. Also if you're not a canidate for LASIK he provides other procedures for patients that are outside LASIK parameters.
We're looking for an eye doctor in Cary. Any good recommendations? Eliza didn't pass the vision test at school.
Heidi H. replied:
I didn't use Triangle Eye Institute to get glasses, but I liked them precisely because they didn't try to get me to do all my services with them. I had Dr. Badwan who was intelligent & personable, and also laidback in a good way.
Judy B. replied:
We go to dr. Rousello Preston Optometry and we like him and the office is great.
