Need pediatrician recommendation (near Centerville) We're moving to Centerville at the end of June from Boston and I have 5 yo & 7 yo boys. I want to get a pediatrician...

Our pediatrician's office is Pediatric Associates as well but primarily go to the Beavercreek office. One thing to keep in mind about the Dayton area is there's probably not a need to restrict your options (for most things) to "near Centerville". You can get to many different parts of town or other suburbs in 15-20 minutes and 30 minutes for the farthest places.

We go to Pediatric Associates of Dayton on Rte. 48, probably right near the border between Kettering and Centerville. They have several (very nice/good) doctors and nurse practitioners so we've never had a problem getting in the same day if there's a semi-urgent problem. They are open part of Saturday but not Sunday - sounds like you had a good situation at your old place! But in Centerville you won't be far from the Children's Medical Center Urgent Care in Springboro. Oh, the only thing we don't like which is pretty annoying is they only have one phone line, so you will almost certainly be on hold for a while when you call. It may or may not be the place for you, but somewhere to check out at least.

My family goes to Dr Robert Myers: https://www.google.com/maps/place/Dr.+Robert+P.+Myers,+DO/@39.6356788,-84.1914789,13 z/data=!4 m8!1 m2!2 m1!1 sdr+meyer!3 m4!1 s0 x0:0 xe622 e09558 e48 ea9!8 m2!3 d39.6251519!4 d-84.198457 Sometimes more than we care to admit. No problems at all. He has been in the business for some time and is well respected at the Hospitals.

Our oldest had/has ADHD (our youngest does as well, in my opinion, but I'm not *qualified* to determine this of course !) and at Pediatric Associates, they tend to steer patients towards Dr Rahe. He's a very friendly guy, the kids liked him, but on the ADHD side, he'd ask how the medication was working and simply write a new prescription....

Another vote for Pediatric Associates. Dr. Herchline is a top notch doctor, and we have had good experiences with Dr Meister too.
Does anybody remember the office of Drs. Leffert, Brummett, and Edwards on the S.E. corner of the square? If a kid wasn't too sick to be in the playroom, you could see...
Square O. replied:
I sure do... I have many great memories mostly of Dr. Edwards. Those were the days when a doctor made "house calls".
Steve D. replied:
I remember hearing Daddy say that he had seen Dr. Leffert carry grown men up those long, steep stairs.~~G
Pam M. replied:
I saw Dr. Richey but do remember friends when went to them & remember those long stairs. There must be something to the fact that if you could make it up the stairs you probably weren't that sick. I remember my parents in the 50's paying $3.00 for a doctor's visit and that was probably steep.
Barbara A. replied:
Yes, Pam, that was when most of us farm families did not have insurance. The whole family got treated, dad would ask "how much damage?", and Dr. Leffert would say, "Oh, five dollars." He handled the financial end himself, and charged no more than what he thought people could afford. And you are right, Square One, they don't make doctors like that anymore.
