Does anyone have have a good chirpractor they would recommend? Does anyone have a good doctor they would recommend?
Elizabeth W. replied:
I love my doc and chiropractor. They both have a very holistic and comprehensive approach. Meaning they don't just treat isolated symptoms. My chiropractor is Matthew Holten, at Holten Wellness Center on Paragon road. My doc is Richard Chamberlain at Franklin Medical Center on Second St in Franklin. If you send me your phone number or call me, 231-6721, I can text you their contact info.

Lewito has had his struggles with anxiety, too -- it's hard to watch your kid go through this, so I feel for you. One of the best pieces of advice we received was to avoid watching/rehashing the everyday TV news around him; the news is so disturbing these days that any highly intelligent child with a tendency toward anxiety can become intensely worried. Our wonderful Springboro pediatrician, Dr. Kim Khosla at Cornerstone, was very helpful to us in getting Lewito's anxiety under control. We would on occasion see Dr. Eberhart there also, and it was clear that he has a wealth of knowledge about childhood anxiety, attention disorders, etc. When we made the difficult decision to put Lewito on medication to help with his attention issues, it was hard to find the right drug because most of them ratchet up anxiety. We ended up putting him on a low dose of Strattera, which is one of very few attention disorder drugs which are NON-stimulant and do not worsen anxiety. In fact, Stattera noticeably lessened his anxiety, which was getting in the way of his learning more than anything else. It was Dr. Eberhart who explained to us why Strattera was so helpful, and we were impressed with how much he knew about it. The downside of Strattera is that it's expensive and not fully covered by our insurance, although I've discovered that there are coupons out there for a free month's supply for new patients. Hope bits and pieces of this are helpful to you ...

My heart goes out to you, one of my kids has struggled with anxiety for many years, it can affect every part of their life and yours. We have seen Kimberly Tornoto with LDS Family Services, she is based in Columbus but will meet you at the Beavercreek Ward House. She is wonderful and also faith based. Let me know if you are interested and I'll send you her email. Your pediatrician is also key in getting the right treatment.

(937) 276-3356 was the number he had. Best of luck! And bravo to you for not overlooking this. Having the tools at a young age is a very positive life change.
Kathy H. replied:
My first thought was what Patricia said - maybe someone at school is bothering him? You could call the school counselor just to see if his teachers notice anything. I hate to hear this - for a young child to have anxiety. Noah asked me once before a big swim meet if CVS had anything for anxiety. I was so surprised to hear him ask that because I did not realize he felt stressed. We talked through it. Told him when he felt worried to sit quietly - take deep breaths - and talk to God. It worked. But if it much more worrisome to you I agree with all above - the pediatrician can help. I know Dr Roer has a therapist on staff. Hugs.
