Dr McClure on breiel is the best chiropractor!!!!
Jen M. replied:
Dr Arand at Mayfield Clinic for back pain.

Dr Steven Baer at Chiropractic Associates on Cincinnati-Dayton Rd. has helped me for several years and kept me out of surgery.
Doctor recommendations for my husband and I? We are fed up with ours and their lack of availability even when you're sick.

Amy N. replied:
Dr Anthony Golf Club Ln open in the morning before office hours for patient walk in app when sick
George M. replied:
Dr Watson Germantown he is awesome and will fit u in when you are sick
Kristy M. replied:
Monroe Medical Center. I've seen almost all of their doctors and like them all. They're normally easy to get a last minute appt, although may not be with your regular Dr.
Savanna M. replied:
UC Wyoming! Dr Tubb!
Cindy P. replied:
Family Practice associates on Briel in Middletown. 15 years there and no issues!
Rachel H. replied:
My husband, my son and I went to Dr Anthony and eventually switched because you could never get in to see him unless you made the appt 3 months in advance. We LOVED Dr Anthony, but disliked all the NP's in that office and it wasn't worth it to stay for a Dr you could never see. We now go to UC Physicians on State Street in Trenton and see Susan Smith, NP. Love her, she is awesome. We've never had a problem getting a same day appointment for a sick visit.
Ashley P. replied:
UC Health is amazing!!! Its located right next to the UC west chester hospital!
Beth S. replied:
Been going to "Dr Anthony's" office for 3 years now, have yet to see the man, don't have a clue what he even looks like..his NP are good, though..time to change I believe..
John V. replied:
Walden ponds Dr Anthony. They have walkin sick visits from 8 am to 840 monday through Thursday

Dr Dandoy is great. She has worked at mchc too but I don't think she does anymore. My daughter was in the same class as hers last year too. She's very nice.
Amanda W. replied:
I go to Dr. Powers at generations obgyn on breiel but my girls go to MCHC by atrium too. Mchc only takes children on Medicaid though. If you have different insurance they share doctors with the Childrens Medical center on Breiel also.

Linda R. replied:
Oh, Dr. Peril. He was such a character. He was so funny, I used to work at Middletown hospital. Always had such a time tracking him down. Kind of like finding Waldo or Nemo. When asked where he had been, he said, "where I was, you couldn't even get here". lol
Jerry M. replied:
First National Bank was on the south end, per caption.
Janet M. replied:
I remember waiting in the cold to see Santa Claus .....he would land in a helicopter.....then he had his own little house......and I would wait forever in line to finally get into that little house to tell him my long list of the toys I wanted......
Michael T. replied:
Dr. Joseph Peil was our family doctor.
L. H. replied:
Bill Widener, there used to be a green stamp store down near Central Pastry. Can't remember if the store redeemed S&H or Top Value stamps, but I remember seeing appliances and such in the store windows. I lived for a time in Columbus, where you had Big Bear stores and they also gave out stamps. Got a pair of boots with a stash of stamps from their neighboring Cub Foods store!
Geraldine V. replied:
Jerry Meehan, there definitely WAS a gas station on that corner! It was my husband's BP for several years. He practically raised our daughter there while she was a toddler. I worked at Kroger & since he was the manager at BP, he would pick her up from preschool & take her there till I picked her up a couple hours later. That was in the good ol' days of full service!
Lisa B. replied:
Virginia Peil!!
Jerry M. replied:
Geraldine Vitori, several people have said that there was a gas station where Domino's is at University and Nelbar/Shafor. I don't recall one there.
Gene W. replied:
Breiel was built in sections. Could access just from Central and Grand at first, then watertower to Riverview maybe '60 s, finally fairly recently extended to 73 towards Franklin. When shopping center first built, mostly farms in that area between there and old 25, or Monroe and Franklin. Many Middletown roads deadended, before getting close to there.
Cecilee H. replied:
Cherie Berns (Berns Greenhouse) is in one of those pictures. I know it's her!
Jeff G. replied:
Dr. Frazzled(dentist) was there in 64.
Timothy C. replied:

Robin A. replied:
Dr, Piel was one of the best Middletown had to offer...
Susan N. replied:
I remember going to see Dr. Peil at his office when I was little. He was the Dr. Who delivered me. Wasn't there also a jewelry store? Maybe that was later.
Josie S. replied:
Dr. Joe Piel was my family Dr. until he retired..the only Dr. I've ever had to see....that i didn't shutter at the thought of having to see a Dr! LOL I also went to school with his daughter Sarah Piel...very nice people all the way around
Dara R. replied:
One time the hospital was trying to get hold of Dr. Peil but his line kept ringing busy. They sent the police to check on him and his kids had taken the phone off the hook so he could spend time with them. The life of a doctor.

When we moved to Boylston St. I would walk from there to the Shopping center and go to Readmore and by teen magazines. I remember 1 birthday me and my sister walk there and I lost my $10.00 somewhere around the Soap box Derby track. I went home crying and dad took me by car and gave me the $10.00 again. 1 time me and my sister was hanging around the soap box derby track and I was up on the bridge and accidentally drop my gum out of my mouth and it went in my sisters hair and when went home my mom took ice cubes to get it out and she had to cut some of her hair and I got in big trouble over that. I miss all those stores everytime I go there now I sit in parking lot and go back and remember what stores were there. I thought I saw a MRI place in the store where the dry cleaner was. across from the side of Jacks Pets.
Shane Y. replied:

Walking from there house to the shopping center with grandpa and grandma. Gosh I miss those days and them. Thank you for the pix and bringing back some memories that I cherish so much.

It was Jacot Park, to be exact. Mr. Jacot was a principal in Middletown and he was over the parks in Middletown, as well. His grandson is Don Ross, a retired teacher in the Springboro School District. Don Ross was my teacher, I am proud to say.
Nancy H. replied:
I saw Uncle Al and Captain Wendy in the parking lot in front of Albers!
Kevin P. replied:
Dr. Peil was our family doctor. I also believe he has MS or MD. He had a great sense of humor. It seems that his nurse was Wilma.
