I had a great experience with Kong's bodyshop, though it's been a few years. [https://kbodyshop.com/](https://kbodyshop.com/) Didn't try to upsell me, indeed talked through several options and I settled on a cheaper one that was like $1200 less than what my dealer's body shop quoted. They did the work quickly, it looked good as new and have had no issues.

That's actually not a bad price. Check the estimate. If it says repair on the part, you're probably not going to get a better deal. If it says replace, ask them to bid for a recycled part vs an OEM. A scratch on any post 2000 vehicle is going to cost $500-1000. You'll spend more on gas money trying to save anything for this. Source: auto adjuster for 8 years

While I don’t have anyone to suggest you look at, I do have one to suggest you don’t. Reid’s on Memorial was always nice until it wasn’t convenient. My truck was in an accident and it came back with additional damage that wasn’t present when I dropped it off. They refused to take responsibility and came up with excuses. They claimed the damage was in the photographs taken at the scene. It wasn’t. Then they backpedaled saying you wouldn’t be able to see the damage in a photograph taken from that distance even if it was there. You could, as proven by taking a photograph on the spot together. Then they backpedalled some more saying the lighting in the photograph was different. It wasn’t. They “compromised” by offering to fix it at cost. I left and never went back. My ex-wife was a very absent-minded driver and we gave them business 1-2 times a year. We had no reason to try and pull a fast one and I was really disappointed how they handled it. I have also been looking for good auto body shops so I appreciate this thread. Good luck!

$700 is pretty cheap for body work. Will it actually require any paint? Junkyards are your friend too. I got into a fender bender that destroyed my rear bumper cover. A new bumper + paint would have cost me over a grand easy. I was able to find a bumper cover in a local junkyard that was painted the same factory color and swapped it out for around $100.

I was real happy with the service at www.importpaintandbody.com (off Independance Blvd by Compact Car Service) when I had work there a few years ago.

I have sent a lot of my dent repair customers to McClure's Collision (at 6400 South Blvd) and have had both of my vehicles repaired there. It's a small independent shop with some great techs and really good painter.

I have used three different body shops here in Charlotte. The one that did the best work is B&R Body Shop. I was not happy with Scott Auto Body on Tyvola Rd as they had to repaint Trina's car bumper twice before they got it right.
