Tryon Medical Partners just opened an office Uptown, the doctors in that practice are wonderful. [https://tryonmed.com/](https://tryonmed.com/)

Dr Cunningham with Tryon Medical Partners in South Park. She is awesome. She did extremely good work up of abnormal liver tests in otherwise healthy person. I was referred to GI, but she did everything the specialist would have done! She listens great and follows through on what she says she will do.

I have liked the Charlotte Medical Clinic on Fairview. I mostly see Ben Kirk, who is a good doctor and good guy. They moved their main office to Fairview, but it's not a bad trip, if you would go to the doctor once or twice a year. They are partially owned by CMC Atrium. So, they would have your medical records if you also use cmc urgent care.
Charlotte area peeps, I'm looking for a new family doctor. I'd prefer in the university area but not a must. Any recommendations?
Becky R. replied:
I see Jennifer Burke at University Medical Associates. She is associated with cmc

Lakeside Family Physicians. Closer to Highland Creek.

Northgate family med in concord...love Dr. Owens. She is awesome. We all go there
Lois P. replied:
Oops, just realized you asked for a family doctor. We keep our doctors separate peds/adults. Our adult doctor is Dr. Blanks at Ardsley Internal Medicine in Harrisburg. I forgot to add that Rocky River Peds & Ardsley are in the same building steps from one another which makes keeping the specificity of having our doctors separate but near very doable.:)
Claudia G. replied:
Dr. Sarah goodman is our family Physcians too! Love her!
Concord, Huntersville and University area peeps - can anyone recommend a good family doctor? Internist? Thanks!
Ruth L. replied:
What are you looking for exactly? Pm me. We like our family doc/pediatrican. And they do internal meds too. I've been with them since Andrew was born 10 years ago. Weddington Internal Medicine and Pediatrics on Weddington Road Concord. Near the S&D coffee.

I don't know about the insurance aspect, but Village Family Care in Wake Forest, Dr Cefalu is who we use and we are very satisfied.
Lorraine W. replied:
I am new to NC and was also looking for a Dr that takes Medicare. Village has a 6 MONTH wait for new Medicare patients. Rex has 7 month waiting. I was able to get an appoint with Dr S. Gazzingan who is located on Rogers Rd.

That was actually going to be my next question . I normally take my kids to Growing Child Pediatrics but I was going to ask if you have kids how are they with the kids. Or are a lot of kids seen there? I have 2 girls aged 4 and 9.
Karen H. replied:
I used to see Dr Becker too!! So miss him!
Sara H. replied:
Shannon Michelle Coulter I am going to the see Dr. Jessica Grimes on Wednesday and I have medicaid. People act like so many doctors take medicaid but they really don't! And if they do they only take in a certain amount of medicaid patients. I will let you know my experience after I go, but so far I've only received positive feedback at least in regards to that particular doctor. Karen Hommema me too! I was so upset when I knew he was leaving. I've always had horrible back pain he was the first to correctly diagnose me with Spina Bifida and detect my Hypothyroidism. He definitely takes the time to talk to you and actually LISTENS. And has a great amount of empathy which some doctors seem to lack more and more. I know the patients in Charlotte will be lucky to have a doctor like him!
Sara H. replied:
I found one. They accept medicaid at the duke office Wake Forest Family Physicians with Dr. Jessica Grimes. Has anybody been there or seen this particular doctor?
Sara H. replied:
Great! I'm glad to talk to someone that has actually seen her! I have some serious health problems and was sad when Dr. Becker went to Charlotte.
Maybe I'm totally mis-remembering, but I was sure that there was a discussion here about general practitioners/primary care physicians/family doctors who have some...

We use Elizabeth Family Med for our kids. All the doctors there are a bit different but all have been supportive of integrative methods, selective vaccination, extended breast-feeding, etc. There is a doctor there who hosts an integrative medicine consult but she would not be a PCP, just a consult. Our main doctor for my husband and me is integrative and she is at Northeast Internal and Integrative medicine. It's in Concord. I don't believe they see children there.

Dr. Rhett Brown at Midtown Family Medicine on Caswell is fantastic. He thinks out of the box and his combination of East + West has worked wonders for my family. Hes prescribed + taught us things like meditation/breathing for stress; supplements for migraines, etc. But isn't hesitant to prescribe medications as needed. Very tech savvy - pulled out his phone to use his doc app to look up a supplement I had a drug interaction question about. Huge thumbs up from us.

I go to Dr. Joshua Shoemake at Mecklenburg Medical Group, Southpark. I don't know if they take Blue Cross but you can give them a call. I've been seeing him for about 10 years now and really like him. LB
