Has anyone traveled to the Bahamas and stayed in a hotel that caters to vegans or raw? Looking for recommendations..TIA..
Rosa L. replied:
Stefanie Weiss. I have been searching the web just tonight on how to travel abroad and remain Vegan. I'll be in Europe for three months and it will be a challenge. One suggestion I found was to use the Happy Cow app. Good luck to you in the Bahamas and happy travels.

Veggie-hotels.com is the best tool for finding vegan/ veggie accommodations in the US and abroad... There is an amazing place that I've keeping my eye on in the Dominican Republic... It is 100% vegan and 80% raw... http://www.veggie-hotels.com/11-1-906-Vida-Verde-Lodge-Las-Terrenas-Samana-Samana.html

Plant is the place to go for fancy dining! It’s incredible. If you go, you may want to call ahead for reservations. Laughing Seed is awesome too! I almost always go there when I’m in Asheville and have had a great experience every time, both food- and service-wise.

Shauna I lived there for a few years. I stayed at the Hotel Athenaeum. Literally, three blocks from the David and few more to the Duomo. Great area, and the rooms are more "American" sized.lol. I also would stay at apartments if it was a long weekend. You might want to check homeaway.com, as this was where we would get great deals on apartments to rent for the weekend.

here's where we stayed, I loved this hotel, it was a little bit out of city center, but I was reading reviews and they have shuttles, I guess we just walked everywhere.. or took a cab.. http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g187895-d275858-Reviews-UNA_Hotel_Vittoria-Florence_Tuscany.html

Gypsy Queen on Patton Ave has vegan options. It's Lebanese-owned, and Leo is absolutely adorable!!

Downtown Asheville is one of the most Dog friendly places ever. I doubt you’ll find many places that don’t allow her. Pets are allowed on the Biltmore Estate grounds, but not in the buildings unless they’re service dogs.

Rosetta's Kitchen is a nice vegetarian restaurant with many delicious Vegan options. They have the best gravy I have ever tried so get the family favorite (peanut butter baked tofu, sauteed kale, and mashed potatoes and gravy) so you can taste it.. And it is in downtown Asheville. If you want something more exotic check out Kathmandu Kitchen on Patton avenue. They have some nice Vegan options that are VERY tasty.
