You should check out Halo or Paul Acker. Halo is in Maryland. TattoosbyHalo.com Paul is in Pa. not sure what his website is. Should check them out.

Where are you in VA? I live in Norfolk an know of at least three respectable shops. There are a LOT of crap ones, so be careful. I posted up some of the work I got here recently so feel free to check it out.

I live in Charlottesville and get all my work done at Ben around tattoos. It's one of the few custom shops in town. Benaroundtattoos.com is the name of the website. You can also see their recent work on Facebook. All the artists are really good. Ben does really good Japanese and black and grey work if that's what you are into. But like I said all the artists do really good work.

The Body gallery has two locations, one in Sterling and one in Leesburg. It's very clean, the staff is professional and I had an overall good experience. I had work done at the Leesburg location by Jed and my wife went there later for ink by Jed. We liked the work so much, we have appointments set up for more. Wes at Acme or just head on over to Richmond. Richmond is the 3 rd ranking U.S. city for most tattoos which means tons of great option at better prices then ville.

Not sure if he’s in town at the moment but I had a little piece done by Captain Morgan over at Mystic a few months back that was really solid. Have also heard good things about Ben Around Tattoos.

I wouldn’t go anywhere here in cville...take the quick one hour drive to Richmond instead. There are a wider variety of artists and shops that are amazing.

I’d say Ben Around has a super solid collection of artists. They’re the most expensive around, but tattoos are permanent. Whatever you do, do not go to twisted ink.

I was very happy with my experience at Ben Around, and have several friends who liked them as well. Becky did my tattoo, but she's no longer there, unfortunately. The shop was very clean, everyone was very professional and friendly.
