Countryside Vet Services. Theresa Oivo. Housecalls for pets. I use her for my cat so he won't have to travel from home. For my dogs I use Animal Medical Center on Pantops.

Dr Monahan at Crossroads Animal Hospital is awesome, we had to take our little Leia to the Greenbrier Emergency Hospital and she had to stay over night on a Saturday night, I was able to bring her home on Sunday. But what impressed me was when i got home from work on Monday Dr Monahan had heard about her being at the Emergency Hospital and called to check on her. <3 <3
There are a couple of good vets at Crossroads. Depends what you need done. I use a couple of vets some are more skilled than others. Old Dom Animal Hospital treats a lot of mine. Dr Kramer or Wood.

Dr Davis, Zion Crossroads!!

Fork Union Animal Clinic is awesome! 842-8387!!! And if you need an emergency vet nights or weekends, Greenbrier Vet in Charlottesville is awesome. 202-1616!
Michelle Y. replied:
Feel like Zion Crossroads is much more expensive than other vets. Our dogs have gone there and they quoted me over $500 to spay my chihuahua. Had it done at Barron vet in Richmond for $100. Stuff like that is why we have issues with pet overpopulation. Also charged me an "emergency" fee to euthanize my poor dog who had recently had a very expensive surgery there 6 weeks prior. This was on top of the cost if euthanizing him and cremation fees
Does anyone know of a holistic vet in Charlottesville or surrounding areas, or someone who would stitch up a cat at my home?
Joyce F. replied:
Sara Reimold I would recommend the Crozet holistic vet for some weird illness or skin issue. But for trauma I would highly recommend Dr. John Anderson at the Monticello animal hospital . He's done surgery on our dog twice with miraculous results their phone number is 434-979-3644 He's a very gifted surgeon, really smart and really loves the animals!
Sara R. replied:
We went to Monticello animal hospital. Dr. Raab was on vacation.

http://www.crozetanimalwellnesscenter.com Holistic vets in crozet, we use them and love them, in spite of the 20 minute drive out there. I don't think they do house calls though.
Rebecca G. replied:
Yes! Dr Thorpe. Sage vet
K H. replied:
Dr Janice Raab of Charlottesville Veterinary Hospital on Rio Rd is by far and away my favorite holistic vet (having been to 4 other local holistic vets including Crozet). No house calls that I know of, though. Hope your kitty's ok <3
Joyce F. replied:
Sara Reimold The Crozet animal wellness center has a wonderful holistic vet. Our dogs confusing problems were finally figured out by her after he had seen many many other vets over many years! She gave him Chinese herbs, a new diet, new shampoo and checked his thyroid – totally solved his problems!
ISO a vet recommendation.

They are not open today, but I have only had amazing experiences at Westwood Animal Hospital. It's only a few minutes outside of Staunton and they're great about fitting you in and super sweet to the animals! I highly recommend them!
Are there any cville vets or just a knowledgeable chicken person that i could get to check my birds? None are laying at all and one has lost the color in her comb....
Amy B. replied:
I agree it's just the time of year. But to your question, Dr Rose at Monticello Animal Hospital sees chickens.
Blaine B. replied:
The Agrarian Vet, in Buckingham.... but yes, chickens generally don't lay in the winter

Ditto to Animal Medical Center! We saw Dr. Shaffer but they're all great!

Depends on what you need... Our Shepard needed surgery... Dr Anderson absolutely saved his life. On the other hand same dog had a chronic skin issue that the holistic vet in Crozet figured out......
