Dr Trevor Henry at Blenheim Veterinary Hospital!
Gerry H. replied:
Thanks for all the input. Called Leamington, think I'll give them a shot. But just for instance, they quoted me $137 to get Hunter his Trifexis ($32 blood work and $105 meds). Emeryville sends me an estimate for $545 including a "mandatory" $110 physical, $45 for blood work and $122 for the exact same meds. The additional fees were for the "if you REALLY loved your dog you'd do these tests" fees.

I go to CK Vets in Chatham on Grand. They are awesome with the animals and I have never once felt pressured or guilt tripped into products or services (that is why I left Tilbury). More than once they have said "lets take a wait & see approach", which has saved me $$

I just switched from Eagen to Merritt Animal hospital last year. Eagan was great but just too expensive. Merritt's prices were much cheaper! And the staff was very nice. Chatham is just more convenient for us, otherwise I would def go to Dr. Steve in Leamington!! and lol John!

Anyone recommend a decent priced vet that deals with Rats. We have just moved here and our 2 girls have very fast growing lumps, we literally found the lumps within this...

Dr Egan is great with rats. They are most likely mammary tumors. Very common in female rats, usually genetic, as some lines are much more prone to them. I belive surgery is simple....though pricey. Good luck.
Julie K. replied:
How old are the rats? I had rats years ago (at one point I had 14 at one time). I've heard as well Dr. Egan is really good with rats. If they're very young, it's possible it could even be an abscess. The vet will be able to tell you if you're dealing with a tumour or just an infection. I hope it's just an abscess for you. In my experience with rats, they usually stay very healthy until around 18 months and that's when you'll start seeing health issues.
