We are new to the camp things, but on recommendations we are sending my daughter to UMass Lowell Rec Camp (but it's full days and only open 4 weeks) and Teamworks in Acton. Teamworks has tons of themed options and 1/2 days.

Maker Farm in westford has amazing camps for the summer, lots of animal and craft options and a couple of cooking camps. Slim pickings this late in the game but they had a few spots left when I looked last week.

Camp Nashoba Day in Littleton. It's full day but offers everything you can imagine: boating, swimming, archery, pottery, horseback riding, climbing wall to name a few. Offers bus transportation in Chelmsford too.

Check the summer camp guide at Lowell Macaroni Kidwww.Lowell.macaronikid.com It includes about 35 local camps. My kids have been to several of them, happy to share info if you need any.
Kimberly P. replied:
there is not much for that age directly in Chelmsford - all the recommendations are out of town except Comm Ed programs but those are not full day ..... which is what we need as full time working parents ........... that being said we have been enjoying The Kids' League in Westford each summer (my 9 and 12 year old will be there most of the summer) the only problem with them is they follow the Westford school calendar so it is not a perfect match. The other place I found this year is Westford Swim & Tennis Club (it is cheaper if you join as members but not required and I do not know the rate - my kids are just going the last week of summer break)
We are looking for good camps for our 12 year old son. Any suggestions in the Chelmsford area?
Barbara E. replied:
Check out the Summer Camp Guide at www.Lowell.macaronikid.com for ~35 local programs (fyi, I publish Mac Kid). My kids have been to Kids League, Camp Massapoag, Westford Rec programs, and Creation Station -- all good programs.

Not sure this is appropriate for your family, but Camp Hadar is run by the Merrimack Valley Jewish Federation. It is in Salem NH, but there is a bus stop in Chelmsford. They accept both Jewish and non-Jewish campers. My oldest went to both Massapoag and Runels (Girl Scout camp) before Hadar. While she had fun at all of them, she liked the counselors at Hadar best. Both my kids said the counselors are more like your friends. I would say they are nuturing and kind and provide guidance, as opposed to being a buddy. Many are education students or teachers.
Anyone have suggestion on Marcus Lewis Day camp in Westford? Looking for summer camp for my 4 year old.
LeighAnn S. replied:
We like the Camp at Nashoba Valley Ski Area in Westford too. Also, One Stop Fun in Westford has a day camp that looks good. I'm not sure about the age restrictions though, my kids are a bit older than yours.
