Any recommendations for dog kennels in the areA? We need to board Leo and Puffy for up to 12 days. We were shocked to see prices ranging from $900 to $1300. They must...
Beth B. replied:
American K9 Country in Amherst, NH. It's the only place I'll board. The pooches can go outside at night to do their business and have access to daycare every day for exercise and socialization. The best part for me is a web cam so I can keep an eye on my boys while I'm away. Plus 24 hour onsite care which I love.

Nashoba Valley Boarding Kennel - they are attached to the Nashoba Valley Vet Hospital. I love that the medical staff is right there for just in case. Very reasonable! I just had my two dogs there for 8 days and it was under $400. I feel that my dogs are treated well. Westford - 978-692-9052.
Joyce B. replied:
We use Gemini in Littleton. Have you thought of having someone stay over. I know a friend who ended getting a great person from www.rover.com.
Sue W. replied:
Ruff House on the boarder of Westford! They are fantastic. Kennel's used only at night. They dogs get to play together all day inside and out.
Joanne D. replied:
We only would use Dayglyn Kennels in Pepperell, MA . They raise purebred German Shepherds. Show auality.
Wolfgang B. replied:
Ruff House is fantastic! Our dog spent a long time in shelters before we found her and is very afraid of kennels as a result, but she loves it there. Awesome people.
Alan H. replied:
DO NOT go to Best Friends in Tyngsboro, too many bad reviews for that place. We used to bring our dog there and she hated it, then we brought her to Pet Smart and she never put up a fight about going there.
Eileen C. replied:
Chelmsford Animal Hospital is very good. We have boarded our dog there several times. They are also her vet, so very convenient. I believe they are around $30-$35 per night per pet.
Joyce B. replied:
We have also use Chelmsford Animal Hospital. They do not require that your dogs are patients.
We're looking for a pet sitter to take care of our two dogs and a cat for a week. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks!

Crystal A. replied:
I use Wignall Animal Hospital, they get to have playgroups with other dogs and she seems to always have had a blast when I pick her up!
Mary T. replied:
I use Countryside Vet Hospital on Rt.110 in Chelmsford.
Natalie B. replied:
The Ruff House in Westford...best ever!
Carly R. replied:
We used Abby Kennels for years. I like the fact that the dogs have their own "rooms" with a door to the outside. They can go in and out independently. They also do an amazing job with grooming. Whatever the shampoo is the fresh smell lasts for at least 2 months!
Cori R. replied:
The ruff house in Westford. They get to play with other dogs all day and they have a wading pool. You can see Thor photos on facebook sometimes. We have also used PetSmart in Chelmsford but prefer The Ruff House.
Tina W. replied:
I have used Best Friends in Tyngsboro, and I loved them!! My pit loved it too!! Go there!

Our dog has been trained, boarded and day care 2-3 x/month at Abby Kennels for 7 years. Kennels are large with indoor and outdoor areas plus our dog goes out with the daycare dogs every day she's boarded. You can use our name and the dog, KC.
Susan B. replied:
I've used DogVacay.com with success, dog is in a home environment instead of a kennel.

Hi everyone! I am looking for a place I can leave my dog for five days during the thanksgiving holidays. I wouldn't want him to be kept in a kennel/crate all day. ...

Eileen C. replied:
Kathy Dowd. Send her a private message on Facebook. She is a loving, nurturing person who will take excellent care of your pup. She cared for ours when we had a last-minute trip to Montreal, and the dog did wonderfully with her.
Virginia M. replied:
DogVacay.com can find a person who will take care of your dog in their home is another option.
Eileen C. replied:
I did look into Ruff House because of all the positive reviews here, but they require most lead time than I had because my trip was very spontaneous. They require you to bring in the dog ahead of time for a meet and greet. They seemed very nice, but I couldn't fit the meet and greet into the schedule.
Kara P. replied:
DogVacay.com places them in a home with someone and I've had great success with it.
Molly M. replied:
There's an app called Rover (I believe) which is like Care.com for dogs. You can post your requirements to find a pet sitter who is willing and able to accommodate your pet's needs. My brother used it for his 12-week old puppy because he couldn't bring him across country for the holiday. For $35/day the dog is at a nearby home that they were able to check out on a few pre-trip play dates to make sure it was a good match.
Could use recommendations for a boarding kennel for my two dogs. First time in a few years that I have to board them.

Wignall Animal Hospital in Dracut. Great vets that do daycare & boarding. My daughter has used them for boarding twice-got them back all groomed & excited to see her Mama! Most of my family uses them for boarding, they have put 2 small dogs together so they can still play together.

I found a great sitter via dogvacay.com. I found a person, did a meet and greet at her home first, then my Gracie had a over night stay at her home. After our visits I was confident I had the right sitter. My girl was in a home with no other pets and went for walks during the day. It was a great experience for us all

If things don't work out with Cedric and Ada. Mary McConnell is great with dogs. I would never put my dogs in a kennel. Gino would die of a broken heart Layla would knock the cage over or beat her head against it till it gave her a concussion. Cedric has a lot more energy than my little guys. But I love him! I hope things go well with Ada she's a great dog and would love the company!

Had an amazing experience at Saltyclaws for both of my dogs. They're allowed to be out and roaming around with other dogs the whole day. Only kenneled at night. https://www.saltyclaws.com
