My very strong recommendation is Mike LaFontaine, owner/operator at Tattoo Fever just across the border in Pelham NH. In addition to his many years' experience, Mike is an older (middle-aged) gentleman who works on many different customer segments (seniors, bereaved widows/parents) beyond just the trendy college-aged kids. I find him to be quite artistically competent, and unfailingly reliable.

Wow you've got lots of suggestions. I'll toss mine in: about 3 years ago, i had my 20+ year old tattoo recolored at Tattoomb Tattoo Shop in Nashua. They were very, clean, professional, and sensitive to the fact that I was now a chicken-$h!t middle-aged woman who just wanted her old tattoo to still be pretty. They were great.
