Budget? They may be best to stay in a holiday home which won't be much different in price and much more pleasant than a motel with children. Look at www.holidayhomes.co.nz

Check out the airbnb website. We stayed with Michelle and Derek on Manchester St whilst waiting for our container to arrive. They were so lovely and really helped us 'arrive'.
