Pulaski County has a nice beach area and camp ground and it's not far from Sommerset and Lee's Ford Marina too. Definitely a good place to look at. I live in Bedford, IN

Hey Scouters! Our PLC wants to go caving next year. Any suggestions on a good caving expirience? Any place where they can camp IN a cave? Thanks!
Scott W. replied:
Blue Spring Caverns in IN is super!
Bob H. replied:
We went to Marengo Cave in Indiana last year and the scouts had a blast. I'll check out Blue Spring since they want to go again! Marengo does not have camping inside the cave, but they do have camping on site.
Scott W. replied:
Blue Spring is cping in the cave and it is all one package price. Went there as a youth and the troop went back there a year or so ago.
Chris M. replied:
Long ago, my troop did a thing at The Lost Sea (Craighead Caverns) in TN. Looks like this what they offer now: http://www.thelostsea.com/wildcavetourpricing.html

When I was with Troop 500, we tried a couple of different caves, but after visiting the Great Saltpetre Cave in Kentucky, we never went anywhere else. Contact The Cincinnati Grotto for information about this cave. They're very scout/youth group friendly. http://www.gcgcavers.com/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Saltpetre_Cave

Do we need to stay overnight somewhere? I know there are lots of other camps that let you rent their cabins for a weekend- like YMCA camps (willson) and Otokwa... we stayed there when Katie was in Indian Maidens. But I don't know how much they cost. Personally I would be fine with a tent in a camp ground... or cabins somewhere. Parks haver some nice large ones that sleep many people, and there are gazillions of private ones. ... Hocking Hills is VERY pricey in the fall, however. I have no problem with family coming, but mine won't. My kids are grown and would find it boring and my husband would be left out of every single discussion, having never been to VCC.

And we would need Tom "Mog" Morgan and Tom Brandeberry, who actually wrote "I'm Me"! I vote for an overnight, too. What about having it at Procter Farm? They have overnight and dining facilities as well as open green space and a bonfire! It looks like it would be really inexpensive. Maybe since VCC doesn't exist anymore and they are where the kids like we were go now for camp, maybe they would really like us to be there! Check out the website www.procter.diosohio.org .
Looking for a lake camp to rent for the summer may be on going. Anyone know of something available near or on LC.
Dora M. replied:
Well I thought it was a good thread.... there was a woman from lostlodge.com who evidently rents cabins for the summer. But when I checked the reviews many people said they had terrible experiences with the staff and were refused return of their deposits due to bogus reasons. So scratch that. Lordy....... will we ever find a clean place with a good staff to rent from? We need to buy our own place. One day!
Dora M. replied:
We tried Alligator II. Bad experience.
