My warranty company sent out a crook from a company which hasn't been named. Their recommendation was for a complete new system, new everything and we were to pay $2100 in "code upgrades". After 17 days in the 90 &100 degree weather without AC, my argung paid off and they sent the guy I recommended in this thread from Repairing America.com - local, licensed, bonded, insured, 26 yr. military veteran, great guy. In 10 minutes he had my system going - burnt fuse! No issues since. I go for the honest guy.

I have started using a guy named Octavian. Someone referred him to me when I was unhappy with my old AC guy. He is building his business. He is awesome the best I have found, great prices, and loyal. His contact number is (704) 492-1165

Karen Bothwell Siberini Robert Grouix, Repairing America.Com; 704-532-5653; mobile: 704-361-1821. Just took care of my A/C after another company tried to rip us off! He was awesome!
Cathy S. replied:
I used Josh Nowlin. His service was honest and excellent. Stay away from Alltemps. No matter what is wrong, they push for you to buy a whole new system when they could replace a small part.

I work in the industry. You can get a better price than that. I am currently between companies, so I'll be impartial. Stay away from Chuck in a truck. Make sure it is permitted and inspected. I don't know your tonnage, but you can get fair prices from companies like home air defender, ask for Joby. AC1 has good prices as well.

I had a very inefficient 32 yr old system replaced lol. [Viking Air](http://vikingcoldair.com/) is who I went with after getting eight quotes, and I'm very happy with their work and use them for check-ups every six months. They're fully licensed, bonded, and insured too. Many a/c system options to choose from and Luke, the owner, pulls the permit and comes back for the inspection to answer any questions the inspector may have. I've heard many companies *don't* do that.

Realtor here. I do quite a bit of stuff with A/C for clients... services, evaluations, replacements, quotes, etc. Property managers and general contractors are probably the only ones that have to interact with mechanical contractors... Dyar Maintenance has been the best to work with. Honest and fair assessments of what can and can't be done so as partial replacements and pros/cons of a few different ways of going about fixing the air conditioning. Can't recommend them enough. https://www.facebook.com/dyarmaintenance/
