John D. replied:
La Bonita in St. Helena for place to stay. Minutes from CIA campus. French Laundry for the 17 th. Sounds like a good birthday week. I celebrate the following week at EPCOT.
Sam S. replied:
Joel lived in SFO and then Santa Rosa (Sonoma) for 35 years. I lived in Santa Rosa for a year in '09. Restaurants - Willie's Wine Bar in Santa Rosa, The French Laundry in Yountville (napa), Tra Vigna, St Helena (napa). One of my personal favorites (besides Willie's Wine Bar) of a local restaurant in Kenwood, next to Santa Rosa, was Cafe Citti. Unpretentious, order at counter but served, indoor/outdoor eating, wonderful fresh food. The garlic chicken was my favorite. It's located on Sonoma Hwy where there are several wineries to visit.
Jim Y. replied:
Sam. The Sonoma Valley has become one of our favorite places. We have not done Cafe Citti but have heard so many great things about it. My favorite thing to do in Sonoma is sit at the Ledson Hotel while the wife shops and people watch. \
Looking for places to find gluten free/dairy free foods, we have recently had to switch to a special diet for our son and it now makes it extremely difficult to plan...
Marilyn R. replied:
Canyon Bakehouse bread, at Target, in the back of the produce section, is the best GF bread ever! Udi's rolls are great (freezer at Publix). Envirokidz cereals are kid favorites (Publix, maybe Target or Walmart). Try various milks to see which you need for what purpose. We like almond or cashew to drink, unsweetened if for recipes. So Delicious dairy free ice cream is the best!

Publix marks their gluten-free products too. They also have several dairy-free cheese brands you can buy — they're usually in the produce section rather than with the other dairy stuff. Oven Fired Pizza (near Epic Theaters) has vegan cheese and gluten free crust also, and it's delicious!

Any restaurants around that if you order very spicy they actually have very spicy? Our family loves hot and spicy food, but since we're white often places don't think...

My husband and I just came from Twin Peaks in LBV and their regular Buffalo wings were extremely spicy. I had to trade entrees with my husband.

We just moved to FL from Michigan and we have a restaurant there called B.D. Mongolian grill. It is a kind of create it yourself and then they cook it in a grill. There is one I. Lakeland which I know is a bit of a drive but worth it. I couldn't get stuff hot enough when I was pregnant but I could there. My husband tried my food once and was red, sweating and had tears in his eyes from one bite. It is amazing.
