I trusted dr.nalinda with my two childbirths and i was able to deliver two healthy babies while i suffered from group b2 streptococcus, terrible urine infections, a stone in a kidney and severe asthma. However everyones going to give you different names and just cz one had a good experience with one doc another may not. Nalinda was very straightforward with me and did many tests others dont do. He has done fetel operations as well. I also wanted to say old Asiri hospital (not the surgical ) has the best emergency care. Take her to Asiri ETU for any emergencies.

Dr Nalinda Rodrigo.....he's really good But if you want a scanning specialist who is superb with these kind of things it would be Dr Tiran (he's a fetal medicine specialist)......she can just go to dr Tiran for just the scan only Also I hope the mother has been told that a meningocele cannot ' spread' It's not a tumor but a birth defect Hope Mother and baby a safe delivery

Please get in touch with Dr. Nalinda Rodrigo. He is one of the most qualified doctors in the country. The best for complications. I've had two babies with him and can recommend him without hesitation. He consults at Asiri Central and Nine Wells.

Ur friend needs to go to a doctor who is a fetal specialist... not a gyno as per say... because a fetal specialist would know how to treat an unborn baby... one of my friends were recommended to Dr Tiran dias... who is one of the leading fetal specialist at the mmnt in SL... plus as most ppl have suggested t consult a Dr working in castle street too... i would suggest Dr milhan batcha ... excellent gyno.. would suggest ur friend to go to both doctors and get a view... will pray that ur friend has a positive outcome.. may the almighty be with her...

Professor Hemantha Senanayake is someone I can wholly recommend. It's still advisbl to get 2 or more opinions and very fast at that

To my knowledge and experience Sri Jayawardenapura Hospital had the best NICU 18 yrs ago. If not for the fact that I had my second son under "C Section" there, today I won't have a tall and strong teenager. I had not even completed the 7th month and was advised that the baby will not live. I prayed. Had faith in God and His will and my Gyno Dr Hemantha Perera (now Prof). The expertise coupled with utter dedication by Dr in charge then Dr (Mrs) Rani Wasala and her team was astounding. Each and every premature baby was given total care. Mothers loving advised and trained. If Castle Street matches this it's great. My baby was just 1.3 kg. Multiple complications. I watched him at death's door thrice. MY STRONG ADVISE IS GO TO EITHER SRI JAYAWARDENAPURA OR CASTLE STREET HOSPITAL.

Hi! Prof. Hemantha senanayake is the best gyno I know and he works with Dr. Tiran Dias. The best combination I can think of. Hope and pray all goes well.

I don't know about a doctor, but I would suggest your friend to consult a doctor at "castle street hospital". Cz most of the hospitals don't have proper NICU's and all privet hospitals will ultimately transfer the baby to Castle Hospital. So it will be best for her baby.

To be frank if one doc is excellent to one patient it may be not to another, i suggest you short list and consult. I would personally recmnd Dr nandadeva seneviratne who helped me through both my pregnancies though i had complications health wise, most of all he is punctual and has his own team of docs at labour, could b seen at ninewells. Secondly i would recmnd my cousin Dr Mrs Roshan zeirideen who has hands on experience wrkng in UK and is also a laproscopic surgeon. Both these doctors are kind and will ease you and gv u solutions to any difficulty and will not put u thru inti C sections if unless necessary. dr Mrs Roshan could b seen at Nawaloka only. All the best!

I has ppd and my husband took me to my gyno and who explained that the mother needs alot of rest and also her family's support. Maybe take her out a bit for sokw fresh air. Specially when its the first month and the lack of sleep causes this. If its just the start you dont need to take her to a psychiatric.. Her gyno would do. My pediatrician also helped me alot. Dr Hashir Ariff is great.

National institute of mental health has a great perinatal unit. You can also see Dr. Ganesan at Lanka hospitals. A psychologist can help the mother cope. Suhaila Shafeek-Irshard, Giselle Dass

Hi, if possible ask her OBG to assess and refer to a mental health professional (psychiatrist or psychologist as the need may be). If that's not possible she can channel a psychiatrist in the private sector who will advise. Another option is to go to the National Institute of Mental Health which has a mother-baby unit and doctors trained to help.

There's a strong network of moms here, many of us have gone through this ourselves. If you want to have her get in touch with me, I can come see her, or we can also include her in baby group meet ups. She can absolutely also see Dr. Hashir Ariff, who consults at 9 wells, durdans, joseph frasier, and he can direct her to some supportive channels. Thank you for reaching out on her behalf.

A psychiatrist is better. Try Dr Raveen Hanvella at lanka hospitals. He's really good.
