Watch Girl Painting on YouTube. Great start for thinking about different ways to paint and has some beginner videos. She is quirky and covers a lot of different areas.

1. Thinning paints is essential, especially if GW brand. 2. Think ahead with undercoats. Its not fun doing yellows, whites etc on a black undercoat. 3. Ensure you have good lighting when doing highlighting (preferably as close to straight above as possible) otherwise you will highlight the wrong parts. 4. Make good use on the forums out there, most painters with modelling threads are happy to share there color combinations and step by steps
