DeeAnn M. replied:
Dr. Bomgaars Jenny ed.

I dot know if she has those hours, but Dr. Nicole Vilarreal at Jennie Ed is SO awesome! Several of my friends go to her and we all love her:) she's a younger mom.
Kaitlin B. replied:
I take Carsyn to Dr. Maxwell at Jenny Ed. Their office is on the 4 th floor in the building connected to the parking garage. I'm not sure of their hours you'd have to google it, but he's an awesome pediatrician!
Jamie F. replied:
My kids see Dr Shawn Jones! I love him and he is great with them!!
Wendy L. replied:
Kristi uses Dr Maxwell also and he's been amazing!
Kristen P. replied:

Maria C. replied:
*Dr. Okoruwa, But yea...deff a great choice. Super good and nice!!!!
Crystal M. replied:
I have heard Dr Maxwell from someone else as well but I think his office hours are regular so it means I'd have to miss work to take Kynlee to her appointments. What do you have to do in case of an emergency Kaitlin Bernth?
Kaitlin B. replied:
They have a 24 hour nurse line that if you have any questions at all you just call the office and they'll transfer you to the 24 hour line once you reach the answering machine. And the nurse will answer all your questions and call Dr. Maxwell and he will tell the nurse what he wants to happen and the nurse will tell you what you would need to do depending on what's going in with Kynlee.
Looking for a pediatrician in the Council Bluffs area. Reasons why you like them gets you extra bonus points!
Ashley W. replied:
Dr Maxwell is in her office and he is awesome but more difficult to get into
Jessica N. replied:
Dr. Villerell for sure! She is amazing, Sy was born with some breathing and stoma cb issues. Her and her nurses called me at least 2 times a week to check in. Not only did she take my motherly instincts (instead of brushing them off like some) but she also recommended me for a second opinion which fixed my little man. Their staff is amazing and always get us right in, even for the smallest thing.
Jessica S. replied:
I have United Health Care
Courtney S. replied:
I actually ran Dr Villarreal for three years and have older kids who have seen a lot of pediatricians in town. Between her and dr maxwell that is who I would go with. Very thorough is up front with you. I'm picky about my children's care and I won't change now. Her new nurse Megan is pretty amazing too. And I'm not just saying his because I use to work there. She is a great dr. Love love love her.
Brittany L. replied:
Dr. Thomas. He was my ob and Pediatrician. He's amazing. He gets to know you well and is ok with doing things to get things to be in your favor at work. ... like when I needed disability at work longer after I had my daughter

Dr. Alexis Sawyer at Boys Town, she is always very thorough in explaining things to the parents. Doesn't use all the medical terminology. I love the whole Boys Town family and have never had any problems.
Amanda L. replied:
Also if you miss their office hours at Boys Town or they can't get you in at that moment, they will have the 86 th st clinic take you, and they are all tied together which I love. Tilly absolutely loves her and when she walks in the room, she is completely at ease.

A good dr will let you meet with them to ask questions etc. so you can have the best dr for the newest most important person in your life. I know Dr Okaruwa will meet with you
Christina D. replied:
I saw you mention Dr. Maxwell. My friend has taken her kids there for 9 years now. Was he one of your choices? She obviously likes him since she's gone to him for so long! If you lived out here I would so recommend our ped.

We use Dr Okaruwa. She is amazing and is so good with Landyn. I don't think it is true that boys should have boy Drs. And girls should have girl Drs. Dr. Okaruwa has always been very good with any questions and Landyn loves her.
Erica asks: Is there a natural path doctor in the Council Bluffs/ Omaha area who can help my baby with vomitting? She is 6 weeks old and has a big spitting up problem......
Nicole J. replied:
We go to Dr. Wilwerding and suggest her yo everyone. If she doesn't have an answer immediately she will find one for you. Also, try chiropractic before medicating.
Brenna asks: Can anyone recommend any good, naturally minded pediatricians in Council Bluffs? ~Nadia
Emily C. replied:
We saw Dr Villarreal when my daughter was hospitalized and she seemed pretty naturally minded and very kind. She didn't question not vaccinating, she encouraged extended breastfeeding and knew why my daughter had amber on. http://www.mhsdoctors.com/physician-profile/?id=11114796
Devin G. replied:
We like Dr. V. She doesn't try to push anything on you that isn't necessary or that you don't want to do.
Catie M. replied:
Definitely Dr V! She's amazing. She promotes breast feeding, knows we cosleep, is okay with our delayed vax schedule. She is open to natural treatments before trying medicine.

Abby S. replied:
Alexis Sawyer at Boys Town Pediatrics right across the river. Since we live on the west end it is actually quicker for us to get there than Mercy or Jennie Ed. They are open on Saturday mornings for sick kids and they leave times open during the week for sick kids. I have never had a problem getting a sick appointment the same day. You can schedule an appointment in the middle of the night. They also have the 'same day peds' thing but that is in west Omaha. I never feel rushed with her. She listens and my kids love her. Some doctors have scared them but she is very soft spoken.
Katie R. replied:
Dr. Yaghmour ! He is in childrens pediatric at Creighton . We love him, he is amazing with kids. Listens, cares, takes his time and not to mention helped saves my life when I was younger !

Laura H. replied:
I can't say enough good things about Dr. Nicole Villarreal at the Children's clinic here in town. She is wonderful about listening to parent's concerns, and not just giving up on something. She's the one we've gone to and finally gotten some answers for our son and daughter when no one else was listening. I seriously can't recommend her enough!
Mindy S. replied:
Dr Dolac at Sancta Familia, it's in Omaha but he is the best hands down!!!

Amanda P. replied:
She saw Dr. Villarreal bc when I called to make the appt, they said Shawn was out of the office until July. I might just switch to her since Ellie has seen her a few times already when Shawn was gone. She's super nice and Ellie seems to like her. She gives good tips on anything you have concerns or questions about.
Looking for pediatrician recommendations in the Alegent care system. Currently with Dr. Maxwell in Methodist, however, need to switch because of insurance change.
Steffanie P. replied:

We take Carter to Dr. Okoruwa behind Mercy Hospital. She is amazing and you never have to wait long. Tim and Anne take their kids there too.
When I was a child my parents took me to dr. Jones. We were looking for a pediatrician for Zoey. So far we have dr. Jones son in mind. Any referrals?
Jessica F. replied:
Dr. Maxwell
Dan C. replied:
Dr Bomgaars? (spelling?)
Chasity G. replied:
Both doctors listed are great, but that clinic is terrible. They accept way too many patients, their appointment times are extremely limited and wait times are horrible. I now take Aubs to our family dr and I am much happier with her care. We go tothe Dr. Sadr.
Seeking opinions on good pediatricians in CB area. Who and why do you recommend them?
Thanks in advance!
(Pic for attention)
Jennifer U. replied:
That is where Staci Hanson takes D, too. We see Dr. Shawn Jones. Easy to get into, remembers the kids when we see him out, quick, caring and listens to my concerns. Nurses call back within a few minutes to an hour or so (seems like it depends on the severity of symptoms). Never a long wait in the office. Downfalls-building is a pain to get to some times just because of the parking garage (not a huge deal-you just have to factor the time in when you plan on leaving). No sick vs well waiting room but they do have an infant waiting room and the main waiting room is huge so you can separate yourself.
Abby S. replied:
I take my kids to Alexis Sawyer at Boys Town Pediatrics right on the other side of the river. 30th & Dodge exit. Because I live on the west end it is actually quicker for me to hop on the interstate and get there than to drive through CB to get to Mercy etc. Anyways, she is so sweet with the kids, they have never been scared of her like some other doctors. She is younger and has kids herself. I love the office because you barely get checked in before they call you to the back. They have a nurse line that you can call at any time with questions. You can set up appointments at any hour of the day, even in the middle of the night if you have a sick kid. They always leave appointments open specifically for sick kids everyday so I have always been able to go in if my kid is sick the same day. They also have Saturday morning sick appointments. There is also their 'same day peds' thing but that is in West Omaha. I think you can get an appointment for a sick kid until really late at night. I haven't used it myself. I can't say enough good things about them, as you can see.
