Doreen Paddock, Dr Eden isn't about to lose his license, he was fined because he didn't renew his prescription license on time. The link that you posted is a woman's personal attack/experience. If you read the whole story, she complains about Dr. Eden's care and attitude but continues to bring her dog back into him like 10 times. This article is a pissed off woman trying to ruin someone's reputation. There are people that go to every vet that are going to have good and bad to say about all of them. I don't go to WL Vet anymore because the breeder I get my dogs from uses Fox Lake (which is closer to my home) and they know the breed (Cane Corso) and my dogs since birth, but I've never had a bad experience with any of the doctors at WL Vet. When I had to put my rottie to sleep 4 years ago Dr Eden was compassionate and sweet, explaining to us the process of what he was going to do and letting us sit in the room as long as we needed to. Dr. Eden's male vet tech (I don't remember his name) is awesome! He's funny and caring & knows what he's doing.

Looking for a reputable and reasonably priced veterinarian in the area. $450 to spay and microchip a dog seems a bit much. Is this the average?

Diane S. replied:
We like going to Animal Hospital of Randall Plaza. The Dr was very informative and listened to our concerns. We didn't feel rushed and they took the time to help.
We did not have good luck with Crystal Lake Vet Hospital on Terra Cotta. And very pricey. I am now in Mansfield TX and the city microchipped for $20, so anything more must be pure profit.
Denise V. replied:
Animal Control on 14 will microchip dog for $15. Check with them as well for less costly spay/neuter recommendations.

Cary Grove Animal Hospital on Crystal St (actually art 14) is excellent. Doctors and staff are great. I highly recommend.

I love Dr Burgess at Healthy Paws Animal Hospital. Not sure how the prices compare with others (I have never felt the prices were out of the norm). I have four rescue pups all had their own medical issues when I adopted them and I can tell you the care and follow up is unbeatable at Healthy Paws. Dr Burgess always reviews treatment options, cost and pros and cons of all procedures or treatments. Also, please keep in mind you get what you pay for and sometimes going for the cheapest option costs you in the long run.

Maggie H. replied:
If you want a quality vet that will listen to you, explain things thoroughly, call you back in a timely manner and be the one calling you back, and a great staff to boot then Dr. Burgess at Healthy paws Animal Hospital is the way to go! I have referred many people her way and not one has been disappointed. Yes, she does cost a bit more than others but you get what you pay for! She's always on time, friendly, and very conscious of the fact that money can be an issue and will give you multiple treatment options that will work. Her staff is incredible! I could go on and on about how awesome this place is but I would end up writing a novel!:) You are going to get a TON of suggestions of places to go but if I were you give each a call and set up a time to actually meet with the doctor. This is going to be the person that you will need most when an emergency calls. You should be able to feel comfortable with them and trust them. Interviewing will help you decide. And if they are unable to set aside time for you to come in for that, there is your answer. Good Luck! I know you won't be disappointed if you go with Dr. Burgess and the Healthy Paws Team!

I have to mention Dr Govic saved our dogs life when she was at Fox Valley Animal Hospital. Our dog was mauled by two neighbors dogs in my own driveway. She went all out, came in daily to check on our dog personally to ensure he healed as his skin was detached and a rather large surface area. Very difficult to keep bandaged. That was about 4 years ago and he is still a healthy. We were just about to have him put down due to expenses when she stepped up to the plate. The entire group at FVA hospital were wonderful.
Michelle M. replied:
Dr. Govic will start at Skycrest Animal Clinic in Long Grove next week.

Go to thr Illinois Department of Professional Responsibility website. That is where all professionals who have licenses in the State of Illinois are registered (except lawyers 'cuz we're special ). It takes a bit of searching on the site (it is unfriendly ) but select the profession, put in her last name, and you will find her. If she has not updated the listing, don't worry, she will. Definitely she will update by the date of her license renewal, but likely much earlier because her new malpractice insurance will want her to do it.

Rebecca W. replied:
My dogs were never sedated for X-Rays at Randall Road Animal Hospital. I have been going to them for almost 10 years now (since when they were still in the strip mall) and have always had great service - I LOVE everyone there, they are wonderful, caring people- that dont rip me off. And I love the review sites - in most cases the only way a review is left is if someone is pissed off over something - you never hear from the happy people. (I have 7 dogs, 9 cats that go there now and have taken guinea pigs and hamsters there as well)

Dr. Sandhu saved my dog almost a month ago. Late at night, they got us in right away and quickly found stones in his urethra. Wound up finding and removing 4 stones. Very grateful to them for saving my baby and being so great with me while I was freaking out!
Stephen C. replied:
Daniel Robert no, it is not 24 hour. You may be thinking of Companion. Unfortunately I can't say the same positive things about Randall. I will not go into detail but I had a recent less that pleasant experience there. They are great for routine things and their hours are very hard to beat. Some of their vets maybe great so I do not want to condemn everyone there. I'll just say I ended up transferring my very sick dog to Companion and had a far better experience. They are not a wellness vet, but when your animal is very sick or is need of surgery, they may be the place to be. I want to emphasize that this is just my judgment based on my recent experience.
