About a month ago I became the proud owner of a 26ft pull behind camper. Took it out for 4 days to Bolding Mill campground for a test camp and loved it. Looking to take...

One of our favorite places is Petersburg Campground in Appling, GA. It's a Corp of Engineer's CG. It's on J. Strom Thurmond Lake. About 2.5-3 hrs from here. Spacious, wooded sites. Doesn't have full hookups (no sewer) but not a big deal. Pet friendly. We have 2 German Shepherds so everywhere we camp has to be pet friendly and have mountain biking close by

Calhoun Falls Campground in South Carolina is nice. Lots of privacy and it's still S. Thurmond Lake. It's about a 2 hour drive and open all year. You can also reserve online.

Try Sawnee Campground at Lake Lanier on Buford Dam Road. Make your reservations via www.recreation.gov. Also, you will probably like River Forks Campground in Gainesville. It is part of Hall County's Parks Department. Then, try Don Carter State Park north of Gainesville.
