I bought a humidity controller on Amazon. I plug a power strip into it and that powers the humidifiers (I have 2 in case one runs out) and a small office fan. So the fan kicks on with the humidifier. http://www.amazon.com/Lasko.../dp/B00FXOFO7W/ref=sr_1_6... and http://www.amazon.com/AIR-2.../dp/B004CMOEZY/ref=sr_1_13...

Many of us use this dual temp/RF controlled. It's excellent, and one of the few that is meant for high-humidity environments. http://www.auberins.com/index.php?main_page=product_info...
Kevin Alcock it's worth the expense, in my opinion. Just plug it into a wall and plug the fridge and humidifier in. Boom, done. The hardest part with the Auber will be getting your settings straightened out. I'd also recommend getting a ceramic heater bulb and hooking it to a dimmer switch on low so the fridge will cycle more and you'll have better control over your humidity.
Kyle H. replied:
Kevin, It is a controller. You plug your fridge into it, which sense the temp and turns your fridge on/off to maintain desired temp. And you plug your humidifier into it to maintain humidity. You have to still buy a humidifier. Most all of us buy this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005PK7RW4/ref=as_li_tl...

Kevin Alcock - to use the axillary thermostat work, you need a working refrigeration. It doesn't need to be pretty or have *any* features, but it has to have a working compressor and an intact refrigeration system.

We just camped at Sandy Bottom on the Toccoa River in Blue Ridge, it's primitive (outhouse only) but the campsites are right on the river and there are waterfalls and trails to hike very close by
