New to Dayton, looking for a personal trainer & gym. Hi all. I'm moving to Dayton soon and I'm determined to make a serious push to get my flabby self back in the gym...

Stay away from Urban Active at The Greene. It's one of the better gyms in the area in the way of amenities, but they have shady billing practices. Despite pre-paying in full for a year, they continually attempted to charge my credit card for quarterly maintenance fees after contract fulfillment/non-renewal, despite paying everything off prior to leaving the area (I was relocating and made it clear that I would not be renewing). They tried billing those maintenance fees every month for 5 months after I moved (I disputed each charge with the company the card was issued by, and each month, they tried again). Avoid! Good luck with your search!

I've been going to Fitworks by the Greene. The basic membership is 10$ a month with a enrollment fee and a club improvement fee. They give you two free personal training sessions. I know some people who go to Planet Fitness and the cost is similar. They just built one in Springfrield and by the Dayton Mall. I would check that out if you live down there. Good luck!!

Planet Fitness in the Airway shopping plaza in Riverside is $10/month, with free personal training.

Second! After charging me for training for month after I cancelled, I had to get an attorney to threaten them to stop. They claimed I could signup at the gym but I couldn't cancel there.

The Iron Room just recently opened up in Huber. The guy that opened it is very motivated and loves helping people. I'd go if I didn't live in Bellbrook. https://www.facebook.com/TheIronRoom

The Heights, on Taylorsville. No contract is the main reason I go there. Take a look and see what you think. It also gives you free access to volleyball and racquetball.

[House of Health 2](https://plus.google.com/114942259717452641995/about?gl=us&hl=en). You can gen one-on-one personal training or they have classes. They usually run either a boot-camp style class or an Olympic lifting class.
