First of all - please do not apologize for your posting! That is one of the things it is for I think. We all can ask for recommendations for Auto repair, A/C repair etc - especially if you are new to the area, what better way to become acquainted with the area and vendors available! I remember well, the days of the "WELCOME WAGONS"...ahhhhh yes I am dating myself! Hope you find some good recommendations and I will say John Gesuele made two great recommendations!

Depending on price there are tons of options. Vince Carter's is really nice. There is always the chain restaurants all over but I'd recommend the drive down to JBs Fish Camp for something casual and fun.

Anything water related until the fall... Too hot to really enjoy what we have to offer. The night life is a little more tolerable and depending on what the family is into would determine that. Downtown DeLand has a really cool scene. College town. Artsy. Can walk around and check out some cool restaurants, bars, and shops. Same with Downtown Sanford. We have a couple nice restaurants, 1 or 2 nice bars around here but... most of the culture is over the bridge.

Ponce inlet lighthouse. Disney boardwalk. Downtown Disney. Downtown Sanford has nice shops and restaurants. There are a ton of parks very close by. Downtown Deland much like Sanford. Cranes roost in altamonte right next to the mall. Universal city walk.
