Can anyone in Denver recommend a reasonable place to have some art matting&framing done?
Shawn K. replied:
I recently had a mat done by pictureframes.com. Even with the shipping it was cheaper than most shops. They did a great job too! http://www.pictureframes.com/scripts/WebObjects/PictureFrames.woa/wa/CustomMat

I'd recommend that you buy a matte cutter. That way you can make any large frame work. It really isn't that hard to learn, and you'll save a ton of money after only a couple of prints.

It depends on the size of the print. I took a few leftover [Nielsen frame kits](http://www.dickblick.com/products/nielsen-bainbridge-frame-kits/) and glass (36"+ on each side) from my office that would have normally cost about $100. My large print from [PosterBrain](http://www.posterbrain.com/) cost another $40. Foam core was another $3. If you need smaller prints, buy a larger pre-made frame and get cut your own mat as lbgator suggests. You can also search online for pre-cut mats.

Time capsule framing at Louisiana and Broadway was great to me when I needed a large print framed for Christmas. Everyone else wanted close to 600 and he was able to work with me to get it done for half that. Super nice guy too.

You could try [Art Print Denver](http://www.artprintdenver.com/)
Relicax replied:
How big is the canvas? That maybe about as affordable as you get. With that said support local framers as micheals and home depot can have terrible customer service if something goes wrong. I use further frames as my go to around here.
ArsenicGerbil replied:
You might want to try Hobby Lobby - I was able to get a giant poster framed there for about $100 vs the $600+ everywhere else wanted to charge. They have their custom framing always 50% off of the listed price.
