Ankeny Animal and Avian Clinic do payment plans and are willing to work with you on how much you pay a month...my cat had tumors, diabetes, and asthma (many expenses at once) and each time we went in, I could start another plan and pretty much chose what I could pay (within reason)...and when I had to put her down, they were wonderful...they truly care for animals as well...highly recommend them:)

Animal Rescue League in Des Moines has a low cost/free program called Pet Snip for spays, neuters, and vaccinations. Angel's Vet Express by St. Joe is a little bit more of a drive, but worth it for the great prices and services. ($15 for cat neuter) http://www.mshoogys.com/spayneuter.htmhttp://www.arl-iowa.org/pet-help/spay-neuter-programs/default.aspx

The animal rescue league has a program that will pay for your pets to get fixed if you can't afford it. I would call them and inquire about it, or call Dr. Anderson on Hubbell. He's the vet they use to do it.

Furry Friends Rescue in WDM did my cats neuter/shots CHEAP. I k ow spays are incredibly cheap too. Both of the low-cost clinics on 14 th are chop shops. I would never take an animal back. Plus, they were more expensive than Furry Friends.
