Kandice Thomas has a great Zumba class. Check out the Step in Time page. She holds classes at Warren and Trumble (I didn't spell that right did I? lol).
Angela L. replied:
I think the Zumba.com site has a way to search for classes. I just restarted taking Zumba at a studio in Dearborn and I do enjoy the classes. I only have 2 weeks left there and then will re-start classes with Ivy or ck out Diamond's classes. I always find it amusing how some things just seem to get a huge following. When I take the classes, it reminds me so much of all the dance moves we used to do back in the 90's or in hip hop dance classes just put to latin music. Some places allow you to do drop in or take the first class free. I've gotten Groupon or Living Social deals from time to time for classes, too.

I train Tang Soo Do so most of these recommendations will be that or similar. Check out www.tangsoodoworld.com they have a listing of a number of schools and you can sort by state. PKSA (Professional Karate Schools of America is a large organization in the area, but some of them seem like black belt factories. Master Joe Sanders is in the Clarkston area and if you're looking for sword arts like Iaido. If you want more PM me with a less general area and I can try and help more
GSJacket replied:
Came here to recommend PKSA as well. Instructors may vary on which PKSA school you go to. Some are down right dedicated and everything a martial arts school should be, others.. well, lets just say they're more focused on "looking good" when the Masters come around for testing and whatnot. I'd still say you should check them out.

Are you close to the east side? There's a small, inexpensive place called Innergetics. It's very spiritual, so spend enough time in church if you plan to go there, but that guy is fantastic and the program is great.
