This is actually pretty common with runners, too. Very tight knit community with groups and meet ups. I also meet up with other instructors (of various formats--I teach everything from Aqua to Zumba) and toss around ideas. I think it just depends on the group/person/area. Also depends on how many classes you teach. When I was teaching 25/week and working an office job, it was VERY hard to have any time to meet up with anyone, including Zumba groups. And I feel like Zumba (like many other things in life) super supportive or super competitive:-)
