I was just told by one of our fosters that state farm has no breed restictions and Ruff Start Rescue has a bully foster who is also an agent,she is a huge advocate for the bullies and does training, if you would like her name let me know !!

Breed Restrictions are done by underwriting and they are in the company manual. So, if you complete a new application, you will be asked if you have a dog, then what kind and then if there is a bite history, if it is not on the exclusions. So, if you ask your insurance agent about this, you need to ask if the company has underwriting breed restrictions. Now, if you get a dog while your insurance is place and you don't tell your agent about it, there would be coverage in the event of a claim. But you really don't want to test that:) So, here is a list of the insurance carriers that don't have breed restrictions - State Farm; Farmers; Allstate; Amica; Chubb; USAA; Auto Owners (this is who I have); AAA - on a case by case basis; Countrywide Financial. Just to be clear Travelers DOES have breed restrictions, I have a copy of the underwriting restrictions if anyone wants to see it. One last thing - I would doubt in our lifetime that we would ever see these lists go away. Unfortunately, when one of the dogs on the breed restriction list bites, the damage can be extensive, especially if it's a child. Yes, we all know that Chi's and all the other little ankle biters, bite more frequently, but the damage is so much less, which means that the insurance companies pay out less. Unfortunately, once there is a dog bite, insurance is very hard to get if you want to continue to have coverage for the dog. Hope that this helps and if you have any questions, just let me know! P.S. He and I are on a diet, consisting of wonderful foods and occasionally beverages. Are you suggesting that I am telling him to change his diet as to effect his current size? No I could not in good conscience tell that to anyone, I have never controlled my diet in a caloric reducing way and therefore am not in a position (Not little as I am) to advise others in this regard.
