We just went to Geothermal 3 years ago. It seems expensive at the beginning however you can get money back on the following year taxes normally. The total cost at the end worked out to be about the same as propane gas furnace. We used MidAtlantic Geothermal also Landisburg.

Believe it or not it took a nozzle a pump strainer and a burner motor. Greg Flickinger came to my home and had all the parts on his truck and charged me a very very resonable price. I was very happy with his help in answering other questions we have had since we only moved here a year ago. Very friendly man.

Wood stove fan here. Lots of work but if you keep your eye open, wood often can be found for free. And the ash can go right into the garden. Family complains about how hot the house is in the winter and we sleep with the windows cracked. One of the best investments I ever made. If you decide on a wood or coal stove, check out discountstoves.com. Had it shipped here from the mid-west for far less than I would have paid locally.
