I am not an interior designer but I was recently in the same situation and we went to Bassett furniture on Glenwood and met with Scott. He came to our place and put together a really comprehensive plan for us including layouts / colors/ patterns /furniture lamps rugs the whole shebang there was no pressure to buy (i havent bought yet, still doing a bit of shopping around) and he even said he would go to homegoods etc with me to finish up the room. overall its been a great experience and just wanted to pass it along.

I hired Betsy Ross Design recently and cannot recommend her enough. She has a small furniture store with rooms set up inside La Patina right by Guglhupf in Durham, which is where we met. Really knowledgeable and has quality contacts that came in handy when I needed remodeling work. Came on very short notice to my house and provided drafts of furniture layout and thematic ideas for a living room renovation. https://www.houzz.com/pro/betsyrossdesign/betsy-ross-design
