You should check out the Skindustry tattoo expo at the Sands in March. You can look thru local artist books to see styles and talk to them or make appts.

Catamount Studio on 2nd Street in Easton for ink. Freaking amazing artist, no typical tat shop experience there, just a private shop with no employees (IE unpaid apprentices). Top notch ink work, and David Sutherland is an amazing artist. I've had several intricate pieces and fixes from other shops work done there. To give an idea of artistic skill, I gave him a basic concept of the DreamWorks logo with an old man instead of child with a large fish (decided on a koi for the symbolism) and he threw together a few amazing sketches. I picked one (hard decision), and he free-handed it on my back with marker. Still need 2 more color sessions but you can see the artistic skill and creative designing. He's freaking awesome. No piercings though, can't make a recommendation for that.

Not every artist is good at every style. Not every canvas has a great eye or is all that discerning. Shop around and don't limit yourself geographically. Jimmy James is good.

Hello I am looking to get a tattoo removed. Does anyone know of a good place around here? I saw online a place called Eliminink...I left messages and heard nothing...
Gwen M. replied:
Not like that anymore with the new lasers. Some colors are harder to remove than others. My tattoo artist had one removed from her back to make room for a full back piece. She said the pain/discomfort was more than manageable but it can be expensive. She used Go! Tattoo Removal but Tataway is supposed to be pretty reasonable....
Anyone know of the tattoo artist who formally owned supernaught tattoo on 2nd St downtown? I'm hoping to track him down to finish some work he started for me!
