Besides the Y, any recommendations for good fitness classes or gyms in ER or Otsego? I go to a 3day/wk boot camp at a Crossfit in Blaine but don't want to drive that far...

Three Rivers Fitness in Otsego. Otherwise, Elk River community ed offers classes.

Crossfit Confidence on Hwy 10 more toward Big Lake. I belonged to that gym before they moved, when they were downtown Elk River and LOVED the people there. Super nice place!!!

Crossfire Fitness has free workouts at Lions Park! Follow our page to learn more. We will be opening our doors in Zimmerman this fall!

Kellie Bossen not yet but soon we will. It is so worth it though. Members spend $50 plus a month to go to a regular gym and possibly never see results. Crossfit is totally different. Amazing results, truly makes you healthy and fit and it is basically personal training but a lot cheaper:)
Hi! Looking for youth horseback riding lessons, and horse summer camp options, preferably week long overnight.

I am looking for ideas of where to go or what to do for the summer with my 4th grader. At that age that needs to be BUSY most of the day. What do any of you with kids...
Craig B. replied:
Parks and Rec in many cities offer outdoor movies in the Parks and lots of different outdoor concerts. Most events are free and you can bring a cooler and make it a picnic. Summertime by George in a good example of one of the biggest events every Wed in the summer. It includes the splash park, activities such as arts and crafts, paddle boats, canoes, and other water toys and always and great band. I know Elk River does the concerts on Thursdays and Ramsey on Wed. Big Lake and Monticello also do the same. great fun and very inexpensive if any spending at all.

Here is the whole picture. Does anyone know what Camp Cozy Pavilion this was at?
Neva K. replied:
I'm sorry, I don't know when Camp Cozy was built. I was so young when McKeens owned it and I don't think they built it. Harv owned a lot of land and buildings, many in Big Lake. I believe their family home was the large home on the right side of the road going into Big Lake which his brother, Jim and his wife lived in. They alread owned Camp Cozy and the land across the bridge when I remember them. Since my dad grew up in Elk River he may have already known him. The restrauant on the highway was really lovely and remember them talking about all of the fixing up they did on it, and on the apartment they had under it, as they did talk about that later. The Pavilion he may have had built, really do not know. Their daughter often talked about the marvelous times she had there dancing. And I can remember when I was little we could still drive across the bridge, though it was only one lane across. Later when we roller skated there we walked across.
