Pediatric dentist suggestions? Especially for a super shy toddler who won't open his mouth for the dentist.

I Love Dr. J, I believe he goes by. He is at Scripps Pediatric Dentistry in Scripps Ranch, a bit of a drive but worth it. He helped my daughter who was mortified of the dentist and after 2 visits opened for him and allowed them to take X-rays. First visit she was in full sweat with a anxiety attack and was shaking she was so scared and was in full blown fight or flight. She was petrified of getting her teeth cleaned. He came in and talked to her and she instantly calmed down, the next time we did a desensitizing visit to just get comfortable in the office and she just hung out and let them do things if she wanted but basically just observed everything around her, the next time we were going to do another desensitization visit but she let them examine her teeth, floss, polish them, take X-rays, and was SSOOO much more comfortable. Dr J is very calm and patient with the kids and the office is set up for kids. Lots of fun.

Thank you Michelle. This sounds like the process we need. It is kind of a drive but I'll look into Dr J.

Dr Davis's team is amazing. They are so gentle, kind, and their office has surfboards everywhere. It's a father/son team. Good luck in finding a good fit for you and your little ones.
