I always drive to the Fairfield Metro North station and take train to Grand Central. Parking is free on the weekends in Fairfield
Rickson K. replied:
If you choose to park, try Best Parking which has an app as well as a website. If you are considering bus, this might be an option. https://www.suffieldrec.com/info/activities/program_details.aspx?ProgramID=30094

Best to search online for coupons to print.... Icon Parking or MPG are the websites. The prices are shown on the map so you can pinpoint where you’d like to go. I like to park on 10 th ave, easier to get in and out. If you park in the city that is (many first timers opt to not do this). I like Stamford or Fairfield train station, much shorter train ride than coming from New Haven.
Glenn M. replied:
ICON Parking. Best deal. I parked in Time square for the day for $23.00
John H. replied:
Parking outside is usually more of a hassle than going in to the city itself. Unless you do something like Charles suggested. West Haven has free parking on weekends and cheap on weekdays but gets full alot on commuter days. New Haven usually has space at all times but was $25 for the day last time I went. Probably more now. Metro North is cheapest, especially off peak. Buses are convenient too. Peter Pan from Farmington is easy. More cost but easiest is park in Windsor Locks, take Amtrak to New Haven then go on Metro North or pay extra and stay on Amtrak to New York once the cars change from diesel to electric.
Maggie B. replied:
Going to the train in New Haven is a great idea. I’ve done it many of times for work. But on a personal note ..if you do it on a weekend ..I personally do not feel that $25 for entire day for parking in New York City is super expensive. I have always parked in a parking lot just beyond the skating rink at Rockefeller Center.
lyft is easier, and had a great experience the other night on my 1 st time using svc, free ride, Rayfan was the driver & she was great...https://lyft.com/iga/ANGELA25415
