Check with your Toyota dealer to make sure you can get parts for you particular model here. Cental Amer. autos are different than US makes.
Mary C. replied:
Charlie Zeller shipped our Toyota 4 Runner here without any problems. Charlie has shipped personal items and vehicles to Costa Rica for almost 40 years. There may be new laws in place that you need to know about. Like the age of your vehicle and etc. Charlie's contact #'s are 2431-1234 office; 8879-8992 cell or for his Florida office 941-981-3880. Good luck.

We brought a Willys Jeep from 1961 in with our household items in 2010 without any problems. Import tax has to be paid. But new law states cars, older than 10 yrs can not be imported any more.......make sure you are well informed!

John W. replied:
Barry Wilson at shipcostarica.com will not only ship anything but he will honestly take care of all import paperwork and government payments. But, really? A backhoe? A greenhouse? A tractor? What do you think you can do with those things because you cannot use them to make a living until you're a Residente Permanente or full citizen. (Getting those classifications may take 3 to 6 years.)

I disagree, the appliances in CR are pretty much garbage. If you are going to stay awhile bringing quality ones from the US is prudent and after taxes and shipping costs pretty similar to CR prices. Look at thread for shippers, I used Mike Rappaport but don't recommend him, Charlie Zeller still seems to be doing a good job.
