In My Element is right next to Little Owl Cafe and is a fabulous women's boutique.
The Venue, downtown, is kind of cool, but you must try Thai House on 5 th.

Forget-Me-Not Books. The books are $2.00 unless otherwise marked and the book purchases support The Literacy Council. They are located on Gaffney and they also have a Facebook page that tells what books are 50% off for the week and events they have going on.

During the summer check out Pioneer Park and all the shops inside! Like Souvlaki!! We've been there since 1972:) https://m.facebook.com/souvlaki25/

This is the funnest post EVER--here are my picks: Try the Asian Grocery (off Aurora) for Thai food supplies or tasty Asian drinks and candy, the OTHER Asian Food Store on Cushman (they have good gifty-stuff, tea and produce). Aloha Bar and Grille has super-authentic Hawai'ian/Korean plates, and the music at the Pub, Ivory Jacks and The Marlin is usually pretty great! Also Lanes's tacos is above the Marlin!
Hey! I am thinking about flying down to Washington/ Oregon area with a few students to check out schools that have awesome programming boards in the areas of campus...

You know we think we're pretty cool here at Western. And unfortunately, our website doesn't reflect that coolness: http://as.wwu.edu/asp/ Here's one of the facebook pages that is sort of an umbrella for the various offices below it: https://www.facebook.com/WWUASP

Hi, new in Fairbanks. Housesitting this summer, self-employed, and looking for friendly places to work on my laptop and have a drink and/or a cup of coffee. Suggestions?
Lara L. replied:
Library is my favorite, but obviously short on coffee:D Sipping Streams tea house is a nice change of pace, usually a little quieter than most coffee houses/restaurants. UAF has public "guest" Internet access, and wood center dining is decent, plus not over crowded during the summer. I adore Lunch Cafe, but it is super crowded from about 11-1 most days and is only open until 4.

The coffee at the Big I is shit! lol I'll second College Coffeehouse, and also suggest Alaska Coffee Roasting Company on Geist Rd. But College Coffeehouse has couches. So, point to them. If you like good tea, Sipping Streams is fantastic too.:-)

SO what kind of bar are you thinking of? We REALLY need something to replace the Howling Dog when they close. More then enough "young crowd" bars in this town. Lets see some Old time Rock N Roll come to town!
Does Fairbanks/North Pole area need more in home daycare providers or not so much, moving there in August and sure if I should open up my home there or if there is too...
