There are people who are happy at Walmart, too--just as there were no doubt happy slaves on the plantation. I'm leery of anecdotal evidence in either direction. But the patent issues are real--as is the impact on local businesses. Amazon has finished off most small local bookstores nationally--although they were already on the ropes from the national chains. In my part of the world, the only survivor is Baker Books in Dartmouth and to the west Providence is the nearest place with a book store of any kind. And Baker is struggling. They will give you a global platform, yes, but at a steep price where the local bottom-line is concerned. Jeff Bezos is a good capitalist. He does nothing out of the goodness of his heart--only what is good for his business.. Walmaryt killed the Harbor Mall when it moved in--and is in the process of killing the Swansea Mall--where business is down for pretty much everyone and most of the local businesses are gone.
It's pretty sad when you go to Walmart and you see youngtsers riding around in the wheel chair carts and the crippled guy using a walker to go grocery shopping is...
Anyone know of a place to buy bones? Like bones for broth? Butcher shop? Do grocery stores sell them? I don't want canned broth. I want to make my own.
