Anyone have recommendations for a good pediatrician in the Springfield, VA area? Need to find a new pediatrician near our new home before the baby arrives!

Pediatric Associates of Alexandria -- all docs in the practice seem pretty good. We see Dr. Kernan. 703-924-2100www.pedsalex.com Very close to the Springfield Mall and the Metro

The one we go to is Virginia Pediatrics and Adolescents off Rolling Road. http://www.vpacmd.com/

I drive the kids all the way to Burke pediatrics from Centreville. I went to them as a kid and I have tried switching doctors twice because Burke is kind of far and keep coming back to them because they really are great
I can't believe it's already time to choose a pediatrician. Any recommendations??? This group has been so kind and made my move to Nova so much easier. Thank you!

Where? You'll need an office that's reasonably convenient. I use Fairfax Pediatric Associates.
headbiscuit replied:
We use Capital Area Pediatrics and they have been pretty good as a group. They have a few locations around NOVA.

If you don't mind the drive wherever you're at. Annandale Pediatrics. They've taken great care of me until I turned 19.
Hkystar replied:
We use NOVA pediatrics in Springfield/Woodbridge.

I chose to go to my local GP instead of a pediatrician.
The office is in my neighborhood and their doctor has 30 years of experience. It's been great.
When it's time for flu shots, we all roll in and get jabbed in the same room one after another and my kids feel like celebrities when they walk through the door since the staff has known them since they were 2 days old.
Two other benefits that I enjoy: there aren't tons of sick kids in the waiting room, ever, and their doctor doesn't overreact. When they were babies, I had a very different experience than my friends with peds. He gave fewer antibiotics and my kids weren't tested for obscure illnesses like my friends' babies. He was simply far more measured.

Yeah, location is key. My LO is at a Chantilly Pediatrician and they are great, right by my GP & Chiropractor.

Fairfax Pediatrics in Centreville/Fairfax have been great for us. We prefer Dr. Byrnes and Woffort, but they have all been good.
CaptainLawyerDude replied:
We love All Pediatrics. They have locations in West Alexandria, Lorton and one other location I can't remember. They also have evening and weekend hours, a nurse phone line and email responses, and sick kid walk-ins. We've never had any bad experiences with them at all.

We go to Children's Medical Associates, Alexandria office. We typically see Dr. Tae but all of the other peds and nurse practitioners have been great too.

Location matters a decent bit. Personally I went to the Virginia Pediatric Group as a kid (and really through college). They always seemed pretty good for me and my brothers (including helping diagnose my brother's Type 1 diabetes and controlling my asthma) and my parents were quite happy. It's been almost 10 years since I went, but the doctors are all mostly the same still.

What part of Nova?

Pediatric Associates of Alexandria has walk-ins and you can schedule Saturday appointments. For the first year, our child was sick almost every month with something from daycare. I never had a bad experince with PedsAlex.

We have been using Children's Medical Associates Of Northern Virginia based on a recommendation of a friend and have been very happy with them so far. We go to the office near Little River Turnpike and 395 but they have a Fairfax office also.
To all my FB friends with children I need suggestions. I'm looking for a good Pediatrician for my baby in Falls Church or Arlington area. Please inbox me Thanks

If you lived close to me. I would recommend Dr Murphy in Burke. They are open 7 days/wk & holidays. But if you ever have an emergency you can take her. I gone there many Christmases and Thanksgivings with Raquel
