Agree with Renee, my kids are way too old for a pediatrician now but Dr. Schafer in Rogers was the only one that I would take my kids to. His was great!
Erica K. replied:
My 3 big kids were all patients if Dr. Schaefer at Mercy for years- ever since Braden's birth in 2000. We always loved him but it got to where we NEVER got to see him when we needed him. He's always booked up or unavailable when we need him. Plus, I got tired of driving to Bentonville. We switched to Dr. Bearden since he is close to our house and we love him. He is a Family Dr, so when we brought Khloe we started taking her to Dr. Lovell, Pediatrician, who is in the same office with Dr. Bearden but they don't share patients. Dr. Lovell is the only dr in his clinic. Great because we all just see our 1 dr when we need them and aren't shuffled around to other drs every time we call. Hwy 412 at entrance of Har Ber Meadows. I've also heard good things about Dr. Livingston in Fayetteville. Several friends use him and love him. My kids are friends with his kids. I don't know anything about his practice though- if he's in with other docs, etc.
Daniel D. replied:
Dr Averett is great. Both kids have seen her since birth. She's next to willow creek womens hosp in Johnson. She has one PA, but she almost always sees the kids when they go.
Kelsey R. replied:
I used Dr Lovell as he was my pediatrician but my boys were terrified of him for some reason so I switched them to Dr Averitt at Best Start. She's part of Northwest and is by Willow Creek. I've been very happy with her so far
Ashley R. replied:
We use Dr. Sharkey in Fayetteville and LOVE her!
Johnna O. replied:
I have used Dr. Susan Averitt since Ava was 3. We all love her so much that I still make the drive to stay with her! Her nurse practitioners are wonderful too! The whole staff are women and super friendly and helpful. Highly recommend. That practice is Best Start Pediatrics and it is located in the building across from Willow Creek at Johnson.
Ashley H. replied:
Highly recommended Dr. Susan Averitt at Best Start pediatrics

We go to the NWA Pediatric Clinic in Fayetteville and only see Dr. Rasmussen. We love him. He sees both of our kiddos.
Lane C. replied:
I used to go to NWA Pediatric Clinic to Dr. Robinson, but he doesn't see babies anymore- just older kids. Jodi, I'm willing to drive a little if it's someone really good!
Renee S. replied:
If you get desperate, we highly, highly recommend Dr. Schaeffer in Rogers at Mercy pediatric clinic. We always either see him or his nurse practitioner Shelley Brown both of whom we absolutely love!!
Brittany T. replied:
I had a co worker recommend Dr. Lovell in Springdale to me. He's at the children's clinic in Harber Meadows.
Nikki M. replied:
Dr. Ford is off sunset@NW Pediatric/Children's clinic. She is great. I'm know it's Springdale, but not far from Johnson.
Nicona J. replied:
We've used Dr. James Scherer at Mercy Pediatrics (Bentonville) since Logan was born. He is great! I have only heard good things about the other doctors there, although we've never had to see them. The staff is very friendly too
Tiffany B. replied:
I got to NWA pediatrics! But I always specify I Want dr. Rasmussen!!!! Absolutely love that man!!! He's amazing!
Does anyone know of any good pediatricians in the local area? I've called a few places but they won't take patients under the age of five. Thanks!

Harold A. replied:
They saw our daughter 1 hour after birth, of course she was already in the hospital. When the L&D staff asked who we wanted our pediatrician to be, we told them Dr. Richter. When she got to the nursery, the doctor was in there and they told her here's another one of your patients. She said ok, and examined her. We also have been using them for our 13 year old son, and our 10 year old daughter for as long as I can remember. Dr. Holly Richter and her P.A. Sandy Strickland and both very nice, caring ladies.
Annette C. replied:
I second Harold Autry about Carolina Pediatric Group they were the only office that was willing to work with us when my granddaughter had a rare genetic disease. We wanted to use a little known at the time for her disease treatment which didn't center on loving your child while waiting for them to die. She is now 13 which is 11 years more than most doctors were willing to say she could live. I highly recommend them a plus is that the nurse practitioner is from the Stedman area. Unfortunately the only doctor in Stedman is a general practitioner. Just not enough population here to warrant specialist.

Hi! Welcome to MoCo! I live in Pinehurst. Mine isn't due until November but I've been researching! The best reviewed are Sandhills Peds (large practice, I'd check out the reviews on individual providers), Premier Pediatrics, and Pinehurst Family Care. :) All should take Tricare - it's really common around here!! Have you found a home yet?
nikelaos117 replied:
This may not be feasible and things may have improved since I was a kid but I recommend any clinic that is associated with Duke which would be outside of Fayetteville and closer to Raleigh. Healthcare providers in Fayetteville are not ideal. My GP is in Holly Springs and it's been excellent so far.

Sandhills pediatrics-we really like Dr. Diazio. We saw Dr. Mason and Dr. Agochukwu once and liked them too

@LIsa that was Wendi Carlton, she will be moving out of the state soon. But SHP is great. Dr. Mason, Amy Ivey, Dr. Brewington, Dr. Diazio, are all great. Dr. Stewart is great esp for ADHD and Dr. Boles is great with Asthma. Both of my kids have had health issues and they listen to us there and Dr. Mason and Dr. Carlton are quick to give us referrals when needed.
Is there a site you can look up information on doctors? My children's pediatrician retired. In need of a new doctor!

Dr. Gray has made TOO many mistakes with my son!! That's why they are going to Dr. Ray! Oh sorry but I would want someone to tell me. The older oriental doctor is good, forgot his name.
Dana H. replied:
Yea I have been rescheduled a couple of times with DrGray n DrJay...I have only had one terrible experience with CapeFear Peds and that was last week...got there for a 245 appt for my boys....did not go to the back until 4...and did not leave until 545...and still had to call back on the following day...did not recieve paperwork and forms for lab work...cuz front was already gone
Tanya T. replied:
I'm glad I asked, I think we'll go with Dr Elgindy. Dr. Pang was the older oriental doctor. Dr. Jay prescribed some incorrect medicine for my son once. I may change practices all together.
Dana H. replied:
yea Dr Pang retired... I also see Dr Gray or Jay there...they do good for my kids...

Rainbow Peds, they have a few locations. They always get us in and they have Saturday hours, because kids always get sick Friday night. We usually see Dr. Shakir but everyone we've seen there is excellent.
Armando S. replied:
I go to Cape Fear pediatrics. They are the ones that see your baby in the nursery in Cape Fear Hospital (if you give birth there) I like them because not only they are great with the kids but when you have an appt at one time, that is the time you get seen:) I really like them ;)
