I was diagnosed a few weeks ago with celiac disease, and just got the call today that my 7 year old daughter tested positive. Feeling overwhelmed. Any recommendations...
Pam J. replied:
I also have 2 books about just being diagnosed. Imaceliac.com and go to store
Jeneen P. replied:
We see Dr. Martin Ulshen who is now with UNC (formerly of Duke Children's Hospital). He is fantastic! But if Duke is closer to you, I'd feel very secure with them, too.
Pam J. replied:
I have celiac. Currently testing our 2 yr old twins. Have dq2 not doing blood work. Going to Shannon Morgan at Duke children's find out next week
Ryan E. replied:
Deanna Callaghan Blatchford . I highly recommend a book by Dr Fasano a National Expert on Celiac Disease called Gluten Freedom. The book covers the history of celiac disease, diagnosis, treatment, gluten-sensitivity, gluten-free living and the future of Celiac Diagnosis.
Okay Orlando friends- I need to find a family care doctor or pediatrician. Jack needs to have a polio vaccine redone and I do not want to go to the county health dept.

She recommends pediatrician - Dr. Joseph Cannizzaro: http://www.pediatricianscareunit.com/
It's with great sadness that we need to look for a new pediatrician. Our current one, which we LOVE (Triangle Pediatrics) doesn't take our new insurance. Recommendations...

Love Jeffers and Mann! Esp Dr. Mann, but all the docs have been great as well as scheduling sick visits, etc. Good luck!!

Love Jeffers, Mann and Artman!
Katie H. replied:
We use Cary Peds too. But we always go to the Fuquay office, which is less than ten minutes away. However, Dr. Brett Wilson with Cornerstone Peds is very highly recommended. When we move to the Davis Drive area, we may switch to his practice.
Emily F. replied:
Cary pediatrics. Dr. Hope Seidel. But honestly, I like all of the peds there. She just happens to my kids ped.

Ditto Cary Peds

That sucks! I am thankful to have insurance, but am so often annoyed by it. Ours there was the best, but in Durham, so your probably don't want to go that far. Martha Gagliano with Durham Peds. We went to the highgate office (near Southpoint).
Melissa B. replied:
dr. Arlene Massaro w Village Peds in Cary. let me know if you're considering her so i can tell you more.
Laura B. replied:
We've been with Cary Peds since 1999. Love Dr. Hope Seidl.

Dr Seidl isn't coming up on our plan. I will give Cary Peds a call to see what they say.

We go to Jeffers and Mann but only see Dr. Lerich. I don't know if the others there are great but we absolutely love her.
Jade E. replied:
Cary Peds - Dr. Seidel or Dr. Zenick (her kids go to MCES) are great.
Hey everyone! My wife and I recently moved to the area and have a 5-month-old son.
Who do you all recommend for a pediatrician in the area?
Kathryn D. replied:
We have a 14 mo old and we love Jeffers Mann and Artmann. We see Dr Lehrich in the Cary office as our main pediatrician but have seen many doctors in Holly Springs and Cary office and have been pleased with them all. Office staff is also very easy to deal with.
Patsy M. replied:
Agree with above. Jeffers Mann and Artman are great!
Emily P. replied:
Jeffers Mann and Artman! Knowledgeable, friendly, and can always get a same day appointment if needed for a sick visit!
Heidi C. replied:
We love Dr. Virgil Steel at Apex Peds. I went to a few until I found him and when he recently suggested my teen daughter might feel more comfortable with a female doctor at her age I said "no way! It took me too long to find you. I am staying with you.
Bonnie M. replied:
Western Wake Pediatrics.
Bradi N. replied:
Jeffers, Mann, and Artman in the Holly Springs office. We see Dr. Stinga...she is warm, gentle and knows her stuff. Highly recommended.
Maggie W. replied:
Second vote for Dr. Steel at Apex Peds!! My children always referred to him as the 'Funny Doctor'.
Looking for a pediatrician... Does anyone know of a good doctor around apex, holly springs, Cary that accepts Tricare Prime?!?! Trying to talk with as many doctors as...
Shannon F. replied:
Love Apex Peds...we love Dr. Steele!! The NP is great too
Desiree B. replied:
My friend, Dallas Ellington lives in FV. Her husband is active duty at Bragg, so they were obviously looking for someone who accepted Tricare. She found Holly Springs Pediatrics and Western Wake Pediatrics. They are going with Holly Springs Peds. (I tagged her and she said to feel free to contact her.)
