I rented a house on 4 acres off of 3040 for several years and we used http://actionpestservices.com/ They were great. Did an annual contract thing and it was reasonable. I don't remember it being anywhere near that much. And they put out traps and plugged holes.
David W. replied:
Back when we used Certified Pest Control, we had a similar issue resolved for about $300-400, so yeah that does sound kind of high. Right now we use Robertson Pest control (214-234-6869). I have no idea what he charges for rodent work, but he is an independent local guy that we have been very happy with.
Christina A. replied:
She needs a specific kind of trap though that they don't sell at Home Depot since the squirrels are IN the house...you don't want to trap them in there. It's a trap that allows them to get IN but they can't get OUT. What they do is they seal all but one of the holes up, then leave that one way trap up for about a week. If you don't hear any noises in your walls or ceilings, then they'll remove that trap and seal up that hole. The first pest control guy (referred to me by our home warranty company), SEALED all of the holes up so he trapped the squirrels in our walls! I asked him if this is the best alternative since I didn't want them eating through the walls and getting IN the house or dying in the walls and I got the "Ma'am, I've been doing this for __ years, I'm an expert, etc, etc" so I let him do his thing. After he left, thankfully I read about Craig's services and he was out the next day. There is a pest control STORE in Plano?? that sells these traps but you have to know how to install them correctly.

I paid to have this remedied once for a few hundred bucks. When the squirrels came back a couple years later, I bought a trap at Home Depot and now catch the squirrels myself and drive them out a couple miles and release them.
Kris T. replied:
We used 911 Wildlife two years ago for humane squirrel removal. They sealed the holes and guaranteed the work for a very long time...was it 10 years? Need to verify that. Anyway, it was only a couple hundred, I believe. Definitely not over $400. https://m.facebook.com/911Wildlife
Christina A. replied:
We went through this in January. Please suggest to her to get several quotes and recommendations because this is an industry where people are often taken advantage of. I called companies that had great reviews or that were referrals and was floored to receive quotes from $100 -$4000. Two companies swore that we also had rats in addition to the squirrels (one pest control guy never even went up in the attic and one admitted that he couldn't get around our small attic very well to see - yet they both SWORE we had rat issues in addition to squirrels). Needless to say, I was completely freaked out. Most companies were insisting that we had to sign an annual contract to guarantee the removal and the pests not returning. Thank goodness that someone from this site referred me to Craig Deice of Deice Pest Solutions. He was the most upfront and practical of the bunch. He explained that while he COULD do X, Y and Z to prevent them from returning, To save money, he thought we only needed to do "X" for example and explained why. The BEST part was that he said while he can't guarantee that we never had rats, he COULD guarantee that he didn't see ANY evidence of them whatsoever (now or in the past), backed up his findings with an explanation and invited me up to the attic to even show me. He told me the % / chances of a squirrel getting in our home through each possible way and let us make the call if we wanted him to do some preventative work in that specific area or not. It's hard to know who to trust when you are in need of specific services but not know what the red flags are. After he came out, I completely trust him and will be glad to call on him should we ever need his services again. Craig Deice: 214-850-2054

I am looking online and it says only 10% of these babies will survive if taken to away from their mom. It's better to move the nest up to 10 feet away or cover the nest with a basket with a hole big enough for mom to sneak back inside to feed the babies. http://www.indianahrs.org/rabbit-care/wild-rabbits.aspx

https://www.facebook.com/58189042832 Humane Tomorrow is my favorite rescue. The Flower Mound Shelter has no adoption fee, but you have to promise to get them spayed/neutered. Humane Tomorrow pulls from the local shelters and the adoption fee covers the spay/neuter, ensures that they are free of illness, covers shots, and can also tell you the personality of the cats. They have lots of kittens right now
